Press release from Pitt:

The University of Pittsburgh announced details of its reseating plan for the 2019-20 men’s basketball season Tuesday afternoon. At the conclusion of the 2018-19 basketball season, Pitt will be “flipping the court” in the Petersen Events Center to provide a number of enhancements to the Pitt Basketball experience.

“It was important to me when I accepted this job to make the students a vital part of our program,” said head coach Jeff Capel. “Flipping the court will allow us to better showcase the Oakland Zoo and enhance the overall gameday atmosphere at the Pete.”

Beginning next season, the team benches will be moved directly in front of the Oakland Zoo enabling Pitt to showcase its renowned student section on national television and put the pride and enthusiasm that the University and city has for Pitt Basketball on full display. Pitt will also reposition the pep band, relocate camera positions and flip the script Pitt at center court to maximize the game-day atmosphere, overall fan experience, and enhance the Pitt Basketball brand for the national viewing audience.

The enhancements will result in a new arena configuration, which will be followed by a complete reseat of the Petersen Events Center in advance of the 2019-20 men’s basketball season. This reseat will take place in order to allow our basketball fans the opportunity to select their preferred seats within the new configuration. Pitt will use its priority points system to determine reseating order with Panther Club members with 2018-19 season tickets receiving first priority.

The reseat order is as follows:

Group A – 2018-19 Season Ticket Holders who have an active membership in the Panther Club
- Ordered by priority point rank

Group B – 2018-19 Season Tickets Holders not in the Panther Club
- Ordered by renewal date

Group C – 2019-20 New Season Ticket Holders who have an active membership in the Panther Club
- Ordered by priority point rank

Group D – 2019-20 New Season Ticket Holders not in the Panther Club
- Ordered by purchase date

Complete information on the reseat process is also available on the Petersen Events Center reseat website.

Panther Club priority points ranking will be determined as of May 17, 2019. Scholarship Seating Membership Fees are associated with most Men’s Basketball and Football tickets. Active Panther Club members will have the opportunity to improve Panther Club priority points ranking by making additional payments to your Scholarship Seating Membership. For more information regarding Scholarship Seating Membership payments and priority points, please visit the Panther Club website.
