First of all, I'm hoping we win
at least one game in the tourney.
That would definitely help spirit
going forward.

I'm hoping that our All ACC player
and 2nd place POY returns. If he
does, we have all five starters
back.....Champ, Nike, Horton,
Coulibaly, and Odukale. Don't be
surprised to see Jeffress as a
starter. Either way that's six
players with real good experience.
That six IMO could get us closer
to the middle of the ACC. They've
come through a lot, and I sense
they may have bonded after all
the adversity this year. If that's
the case, team chemistry should
be a big plus.

The question is, who leaves and
who joins this team. Brown is
gone and maybe Drumgoole (he
actually hit a 3 yesterday, banked
it in from straightaway. It was so
far off, it went in HA!)
So, who joins? As previously stated
a transfer big who can start would
really make us better. Three or four
other pieces .....another pg, off guard,
wing, and a developmental freshman
big would be the ideal situation.
Hugley??.....maybe. Let's see what
Capel can do with this opportunity.

If Champ stays, we can be OK. Maybe even a little better than this past year. Without him, we are really going to struggle.

I'd be surprised if Brown left. He doesn't count against the scholarship limit so why wouldn't Pitt want him back? He is probably light years better than Amadusun as the backup 5. Now, maybe he wants to transfer down and play more but even most mid-majors have a better frontcourt than we do do PT for him isnt guaranteed anywhere.

I think:

- Champagnie and Drumgoole gone for sure.

Return:
Femi
Collier
Jeffress
Amadusun
Horton
Coulibaly
Brown and Sibande (dont count towards limit)

So that means we have 7 scholarships to give. Given the record number of transfers coming given that almost all good "4 year seniors" on mid-majors will transfer up, Pitt has a chance to basically sign a whole new team. However, its doubtful we will be able to get difference-making transfers. Probably local Patriot League guys like Austin Butler and Nelly Cummings, guys at that level.

I think with starting roles available, it is “possible” to do better than that.

Brown already came out and said he is not coming back.

Dude I've told you he's not coming back a bunch.
My boy hangs out with him all the time.
He said no way he's coming back.

OK. So we are going off what your friend says? One thing is for sure, Brown will play college basketball next season. Will that be at Pitt? We'll see.

Lol no we are going by what Brown says. It's okay you don't have to take my or anyone's word for it.
And just keep saying Brown will be back.

Someone always steps into the void

people need to breathe and realize it

You're right. Champ is a perfect
example. Nobody expected for
him to do what he's done. Actually
Drumgoole was the more heralded
recruit. This year Odukale was
considered a decent recruit, but
he's far exceeded expectations in
his freshman year.
We possibly will have a player do
that next year too, but we still
need a legit big.

I definitely agree we need post help

He was the only player honored at Senior Night. That is a clear indication that he does not plan to return.

Is that the only indication we have? Because there has been a time (I vaguely seem to recall) that I player was honored on senior night but returned.

Nick River, Aron Nwankwo, Kenny Pickett, etc. We are going off of a message board poster's friend's word.

I think the plan was always going to be that this would be Brown's last year but the depleted roster plus the extra year of eligibility may make the 2 sides agree that its best for him to play 1 more year. I mean, honestly, does anyone really expect Pitt to land a better backup 5 in free agency than Brown?

And maybe he realizes hoops isn’t in his future and wants to get on with life. And if by some chance he catches on with some low level league his chances won’t be any better with an extra year in college. He is what he is.

I haven’t a clue. But him being done really isn’t an unfathomable scenario.

Not questioning you per se, but I missed that. When did he say this?
PG Article - He talked about how difficult things were at some points and they talked to one of his relatives that drove from RI to watch him play on a regular basis.

Nope. He will play somewhere next year. Free food, free housing and a free year of graduate studies. That is worth more than making $30K playing in the Norwegian league.

From the P-G article:

"The end of the 2020-21 season will mark the end of his Pitt career. He’s set to graduate this semester and was the lone senior player honored before the Panthers’ win Tuesday against Wake Forest. He might be playing next season, possibly at another college, but it won’t be at Pitt."

I find it absolutely hilarious that SMF, who has absolutely no inside info, INSISTS he knows more about the situation than someone who has a direct link to Terrell Brown himself.

I mean, it is just so SMF.

Can't remember if that happened at Pitt, but it just happened at Michigan State. Josh Langford was honored last year when he was injured and it wasn't clear if he would be coming back. But he came back and was honored again just yesterday. And he hasn't ruled out the possibility of coming back next year, so he could be honored a third time. I think his primary motivation for coming back next year may be so that he can be the only player ever to be honored on three senior nights,

Champ needs to stay. He is an overseas professional player. He doesnt have the height to be successful in the way his game skill set is right now and doesn't have the handle to create well on his own from outside.

He is a nice college player and hope the he gets good sound advise of his potential if he leaves early.

I'd love for him to come back but he's had 2 injuries. If you're him, do you pass up a guaranteed 435K 2 way/deal for the HOPE to go higher in the 2022 Draft?

Well, it wouldn't be so bad if
he didn't come across as so
definitely sure. We could deal
with opinions. Unfortunately
his response was.... "nope. He
will play somewhere next year."
He might be 100% right, but
as we all have come to know,
his opinions are definite facts
in his delusional mind.

But on the other hand......
SMF knows basketball

If you are not an NBA caliber player, yet you are a projected first rounder expected to receive guaranteed money from the NBA, why would you pass that up? If he lacks the NBA skill set, then there is nothing he can do at Pitt next year to fix that problem that he can't work on as a pro, which he can focus on 100% of time instead of dealing with going to classes. He will have more time for ball handling drills on some NBA team than he will at Pitt.

Brown doesn't exactly strike me as someone who loves the game and would want to endure another year of practices for a sport he has no future in. Either way, I think we can all agree on one thing: Whether or not he comes back, it really doesn't matter all that much.

The thought of struggling in year four under Capel is tough to swallow. No one, I mean no one, on here would have thought that when he was hired.

I expect Karim to continue his improvement & be an impact player next season . I would think Nike, Femi , & Jeffress will be improved. Having said all that, all I hear from CBB coaches, is that they expect increased player turnover. Who knows for sure?

No one would have thought that the entire country would be locked in their homes for more than a year;
I cannot imagine things a couple years down the road
