Poor Cam Johnson; can't hit a shot and is a liability on the defensive end of the floor. I was really hoping he could provide a long to mid-range game that could stretch the opposition.
-Pitt has a really good starting 5. But at this point our depth is starting to look incredibly overrated. Slim Johnson is a no show again.
I just put the feed on, man is the Zoo harassing Central Arkansas. I feel bad for that Turner kid and his short shorts.
-Moving forward in big games, Damon Wilson should be our backup at the 1 and 2. No more Chris Jones. And Im losing my patience with Slim Johnson. I still dont understand why Wilson barely played the last 3 games. Doesn't make sense. He's obviously talented, just needs to get comfortable with more playing time.
I'm not against Jones. Slim is really making me lose my patience too. But yes! Anything that involves Wilson playing a ton more I'm all for!
I agree he needs to play. I can understand it vs. Purdue but not in the other games. I think the main concern right now is he is a little trigger happy and needs to focus more on being pass-first and running the offense.
Fair assessment. Of all the trigger happy guys on the team though, Wilson seems to not throw up nearly as many bad looking bricks.
-100% Agree. I would rather see him penetrate and dish out assists then try to score as much as he tries.
-And for the love of God, would Jamie Dixon stop with his line changes. I don't understand why he pulls out 3 or 4 of our starters at the same time and puts the entire bench in. The bench obviously isnt close to our starting 5. That much was clear in the Purdue game. That much is clear in the Central Arkansas game. Pull 2 starters out at most, not the entire starting 5 and watch the other team go on big runs. He did this shit with the 2009 Pitt team and I hated it. He's doing it again.
-Central Arkansas is not a good team, but this is easily our best game of this season. We are looking very dangerous as a team, and improving.

We won't. That doesn't mean we can't be good. We aren't beating any ACC opponents by 50. But I have been pleased with the offense thus far. And a few of the worst defenders are a bit better now. A couple don't seem to have improved much yet.
I know we can't beat anyone in the ACC by 50 points. But was taking about having a good offense and being able to put up 70 or 75+ a game. For the second year in a row, no force or big presence in the middle.

I don't think center is as important as you are suggesting. Maia, ANO and Luther should be sufficient against 90% or more of opponents. Few teams have a dynamic player at the 5. College is a guards game. That is where we have always been lacking. JR, Smith, Jones and Wilson may be our best 4 guard rotation in Dixons tenure. We have had better individual guards, like Levance and Brandin, but going 4 deep like this I would take this group over any other. Would make for a good debate if anyone can think of one better.

Eastern Washington (Friday) is #200, while Moorhood State (Sunday) is #136. About the same as BC (#210) and VT (#132) the lowest rated two teams in the ACC. Davidson (a week Tuesday at MSG) is #52. We are currently (not counting the game today) at #33.

Not much to take from this game. The team was a bit tired so Dixon only played Young 16 minutes. He did not play him at C at all. In the first half it was Maia, ANO and then Luther... same in the second half except Luther played... at PF.
Jones had a real good stat line..... 13 points on 4-6 shooting, 1-1 from 3, 4-5 from stripe.... 3 rebs and 5 assists... but we will see how he does against better competition.
