I'll never root for block again, but I thought the Vegas/Navy script uniforms we began wearing in 2016 were pretty sharp. I strongly dislike our current basketball uniforms.

I'd be pleasantly shocked if we won the four games in addition to that.

I will say, this game had a very surprising result. Even with clawing back in the first half, I didn’t think this team had the toughness to come back 16 down. Props to Capel for rallying the troops.
Maybe I'm too optimistic, but hopefully they can build some momentum off of this and keep the ball rolling.
The other teams we're playing are bad. But so is UVA. I wrote the Louisville game off as a loss at the start of the season.

And of course the point spread was 10.5, so somebody probably turned it on and unnecessarily committed suicide thanks to the gaffe.
Gotta beat ND Saturday and then win against Georgia Tech at home next Tuesday and neither of those wins will be gimmies. Nonetheless, a win is a win tonight and it still at least gives this team a pulse of keeping their slim NCAA tournament hopes alive.
Great night for me. Out to dinner and missed being down 16. Started watching, liked the way we were playing, Got a favorable line and made a quick $300 while watching a good performance.

lol - I heard the PA announcer in the background say 79-70 as well. So the TV must have been linked to what they showed at the game.
For whatever reason, the last point of the game (Ish FT) was originally awarded to Syracuse on the broadcast. Did not get fixed until right after the final buzzer. 80-69 final.

Tale of Two Halves
Fun game. Terrific job by the boys not packing it in and just quitting. We were 18/24 from the line. Rebounds were tied at 34, we had 12 assists on 26 baskets and had 8 blocks to zero.
I assume that happened on the broadcast because they screwed it up in the arena.
BTW, the next time we bitch about our offense (and we've certainly had plenty to bitch about at times), against Boston College tonight Virginia Tech scored 11 points in the first half and 36 points for the game.

Our rotations are too slow, which is why I don't think this team should be helping off shooters. If your guy beats you for 2 points, so be it. But we help, then get caught in rotations and it's a wide open 3.
Pitt is 16th in the ACC in 3 Point Defense and 14th in Rebound Margin. Teams are shooting an eye-popping 39% vs us. I mean if you have 1 guy on your team shooting 39%, that's pretty good. But we are giving that up to everyone in the league.
Well, VT is paying very close to $0 in player payroll. Mike Young still may get my vote for Coach of the Year. I picked them 17th or 18th.
That was what I calculated too. Down 22-6 and finished the final 3/4 of the game 74-47. Folks who didn't watch the game might see the final score of 80-69 and think that Pitt was always ahead ... crazy game
