PItt finishes its last season in the EAGL with a dead last finish at the EAGL Championships.

1. Towson 196.500
2. NC State 196.425
3. UNC 196.350
4. New Hampshire 195.500
5. Temple 194.925
6. GW 194.525
7. LIU 194.275
8. Pitt 194.225

PItt finished 10-15 (2-5 in the EAGL). The season highlights was opening the season by winning the Keystone Classic with wins over Penn State, Temple, and Penn. Unfortunately, that was pretty much the highlight.

Pitt's National Qualifying Score of 195.229 currently ranks 45th in the nation (out of 84 women's gymnastics programs). Pitt is hosting NCAA Regionals this year at the Pete. Regionals takes the top 36 so Pitt will miss out competing on its home floor as a team.

This is Samantha Snider's sixth year as head coach. Here is her record over those six seasons;

2023: 10-15 (2-5); 8th out of 8 at EAGL; NQS 195.229 (45th)
2022: 10-10 (4-3); 8th out of 8 at EAGL; NQS 195.860 (43rd)
2021: 6-10-1 (5-7-1 ); 6th out of 7 at EAGL; NQS 194.681 (49th)
2020: 7-7 (2-3); Cancelled due to Covid; NQS 195.590 (35th): NCAAs cancelled
2019: 9-19 (1-6); 4th out of 6 at EAGL; NQS 194.950 (43rd)
2018: 8-22 (3-3); 5th out of 6 at EAGL; 195.870 (33rd); 5th out of 6 at NCAA Regional

I would love to hear from someone in the know what kind of shape this program is considered right now. How is the recruiting? Obviously the facilities need upgraded. Can she coach?

College Gym News had Pitt's 2023 class ranked 14th back in November, but has another ranking of it at 24th.

Obviously the facility upgrades are on the way with Victory Heights.

This is one sport I have no knowledge about what so ever. My wife has taken my kids to some matches or what ever they are called, but I've never been. Hopefully victory heights helps!

I’d guess that’s still considered below the line facilities or not?
What’s going to happen with the EAGL now?

That's a good question. How much better can LIU, Towson, New Hampshire, GW, and Temple's facilities be?

I would imagine the EAGL will go forward with their five remaining members. Maybe a merger or some membership resuffling with Gymnastics East although I don't know if members of the GEC have any incentive to add or leave.

Three Pitt individuals qualified for the NCAA regional in Pittsburgh:
• Hallie Copperwheat in the All-around
• Reyna Garvey on beam
• Natalia Pawlak on bars

I've attended most home gymnastics meets, and the main thing is Pitt just doesn't really have a large amount of talent. Over the years, there have been several decent individual gymnasts on various Pitt teams, like Lindsey Offutt, Haley Brechwald and Olivia Miller, but good teams have 5-10 of these individuals on them. Sam has never been able to get a whole team of consistent high scoring members. That's just my opinion on what I see.
