Pitt takes on LSU at the Greenbrier Tip-Off on Friday afternoon. It will be the fifth time LSU and Pitt have played in basketball (series tied 2-2), and the first meeting since January 31, 1969, which was 120-79 win for the Tigers.

Starring for LSU in that game was none other than the legendary Pete Maravich, who averaged 44.2 points per game that season. In that game against the Panthers, Pistol Pete scored 40 points on 34 attempted field goals (pre 3-point line).

Maravich played HS Ball in South Carolina, but was born in Aliquippa.
