Today, Pitt made the top three cut for wide receiver Jatavious Harris, a 2018 prospect out of Milledgeville (Ga.) and a former Tennessee commit. Harris' list released today consists of Pitt, Louisville, and Mississippi State. Interestingly enough, he called it a final three rather than a top three. He's closed the door on Tennessee and other schools he's previously held offers from, including Florida, Miami (Fla.), South Carolina, West Virginia, Nebraska, and others.

Harris will be both an early signee and early enrollee, meaning he'll sign his letter of intent on December 19th and then enroll just a few weeks later at the school of his choice in January. Prior to signing his letter of intent, Harris intends to make official visits to Pitt on December 8th and then to Louisville on December 15th. He has the open date on December 1st, which will likely go to Mississppi State, but he didn't confirm it as locked in yet like the other two.

Louisville is likely in the driver's seat here going into the stretch run. He visited there this past weekend, on November 11th, for their win over Virginia and they'll also get his final visit before he signs his LOI. Still, the fact that Pitt has a real shot to get this kid on campus late and take a swing at him is certainly a positive sign.

He's got nice size at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds and I've embedded his junior season highlights below (senior year aren't available yet). Right now, he's a better pure athlete and big-play guy than he is a polished receiver, but you see a lot of the tools that make him an intriguing prospect. He's a very athletic kid with speed to burn and as a receiver, his body control is likely his biggest strength. He adjusts very well to the football. He'd likely be a deep threat more than an intermediate guy in the early stages of his career and I'd like to see him work more on his route-running and footwork.
