This is the second time Pitt men's soccer has been ranked #1...it previously obtained #1 during the strange COVID season, if I recall correctly.

As far as I know, this is the first time in school history that Pitt has ever had two #1 ranked varsity athletic programs at the same time (men's soccer and volleyball).

Also #1 in RPI which is more important. Only loss to RPI #2 Penn, a game they shouldn't have played on 1 day rest but they played at Penn State on a Friday and probably figured they can go beat Penn in Philly on Sunday since they are halfway there.
