Can’t wait to see how badly this message board overreacts to this loss and jumps off the ship. Should this team be 6-1 at worst in November? Yes. Absolutely. 5-2 isn’t the end of the world, and while you need those games at home, it’s not a loss that’ll sink their season.. (thoughts below)

.) Plain and simple Pitt will NOT win many games with Carrington and Leggett both struggling from the field. They both missed plenty of open looks and at the end of the day sometimes that’s just hoops. Still believe they’re more than talented enough to bounce back

.) Fede is becoming a major problem and it’s an issue worth monitoring. If Fede isn’t blocking shots and rebounding he does not provide the value GDG does. He’s been getting bullied and he’s never going to be an elite scoring threat, but woof has he been struggling.

.) Hinson was terrific down the stretch, and his big shot making is what makes him so special and what made this game even competitive down the stretch. He has clear deficiencies, and he’s flat out not a good defender at all, or a great FT shooter, but man is he a joy to watch when he’s locked and loaded from 3.

.) December is going to be a really big month for Pitt’s overall tournament hopes. Rebounding and going 5-0 in December to get back to 9-2 (1-0) going into 12/30 Syracuse game is monumental. This team needs to show great resolve starting Sunday against Clemson where I DO NOT like the matchup with that team. They’ll have to play worlds better to knock them off Sunday.
