What do you guys think about this? Pitt only sold maybe 60%-70% of clubs as season tickets but they dont sell them on their website as individual game tickets, probably because they wouldnt be able to sell them at a price that would be equivalent to what a season ticket holder paid. So they sell them on StubHub to "hide" the true value in a sense. Case in point. 56 of the 80 tickets left for today's game are in Section 109.

I mean its good business I guess so from that standpoint, I dont blame them but for some reason, they've just always been really sneaky with their ticket selling going back to lying about the season ticket waiting list.

Well, they do the same stuff with football. The good seats down in the 100s can be only be bought as part of a season ticket plan, they won't sell them as individuals, even in mid-season. I tried to buy 12 for a mid-season football game in a section where I know all the seats aren't sold. Would have paid at least $75 each to get them. They wouldn't sell me any. So, I bought 12 seats in the upper deck on StubHub for around $10 each + the StubHub fee. Was like $160 total. Then we just sat in the 100s anyway because there were plenty of empty seats. If they didn't want to make another $500 off me, I can't make them take it.

Another post by the OP to try to make Pitt look bad. What is it Number 20,000 or so anti-Pitt posts. Give or take a thousand or two. What a troll.

Is it as simple as visiting team tickets returned ?

The visiting ticket allotment is the first few rows in the Zoo behind the visitor's bench. The ACC only requires teams to provide the visitors with 75 tickets (unless they have recently changed that number), but they require the seats to be right behind the visitor's bench (or as close as possible).

So the first few rows in the Zoo there actually have signs on them that say that they are reserved, so the students don't sit there. Today there were people sitting in the first and second row, and then there were a couple rows that were empty.

we sat in 111 today - really enjoyed the view

No, but that brings up another point. We reserve 5 rows of about 20 seats for the visitors behind their bench but all but maybe 1-2 teams brought like 20 fans. Do we really need 80 empty seats between the visiting fans and students. That is just a bizarre look. Would it be that difficult to sell those seats or have the students move down a few rows. I mean Pitt could list those on StubHub as well so we dont have a swath of empty seats between the visitors and students.

As for the Section 109 seats, those are definitely unsold seats from Pitt's own inventory. They only sold the first couple rows as season tickets in that section. I know this because I checked on the website to see how season tickets were doing after the pick your seat thing. They sold all of the middle section on the Zoo side, most of the middle section on the other side but the other 4 sections were only like 25% sold

But the question is, is Pitt allowed to sell them or let students sit there, or do the ACC rules require that those seats be held only for the visiting team? You would think that if Pitt were allowed they would just let the students sit there, especially if there was a whole row that was going to go unused. But maybe they aren't allowed to do that.

Maybe they arent allowed to let students sit there but let me know the next time you see an ACC game with completely empty primo seats like Pitt has every game behind the visiting bench. Sell the things.

Also, whats up with Pitt saying when we moved to the ACC that they cant sell road game tickets to fans anymore because the ACC allotment is limited. Is Pitt bringing 100 fans to all road games? That is highly highly doubtful considering only a few ACC teams bring more than 20 to the Pete.

Hate the empty spot behind visitor bench.
Not a fan of the tv camera angle either. Oh well.

We went from stupid-looking empty luxury boxes behind the benches to 80 empty seats. Is it THAT hard to figure out how to avoid little annoying stuff like this. If you dont want to sell the tickets, then take some people from somewhere else and plop them there.

Well the 75 tickets that Pitt gets includes tickets for any players and coaches families that are there. And there are a few well healed donors that go to all or almost all of the games. So yeah, I would imagine that Pitt at least comes close to fulfilling their full supply of tickets for almost all of their away games.

I don't know what's up with the teams that we've played at home this year, but in past seasons the visitors tickets were in that little section in the corner behind the visitor's bench, section 26, and a small number of seats in 126 right behind there. That's close to where we sit, and I can tell you that for conference games those seats were almost always full.

If we get 75, why do we reserve 100 for visitors. Why do we use our 75 but nobody brings more than a handful to The Pete. How many Clemson fans will be there Wednesday? 15 tops?

We reserve the number that we are required to reserve. And as I said, in the past many teams filled all the seats that they got at the Pete. Especially for weekend games. I do not know what is up with some of the teams we've played this season. It didn't even look like Georgia Tech had two full rows there on Saturday. Which would be what, 40 tickets? You would think that on a weekend that player's/coach's family members would use that many tickets, or really, even more that that.
