This program desperately needs a coaching change. Things just go stale. There is very little talent on this team, and help is not on the way.
Unfortunately, Heather Lyke handed out a contract that is akin to paying the hash brown flipper at Mickey D's $125K/year.
Unless you are a top 5 college coach, I don’t get these long contract extensions….especially for a coach who really isn’t a great recruiter.
Yep. Neither of our quarterbacks actually suck. They are capable players if they were behind even an average O-line. Whoever the hell our new o- line coach is, needs to move down to pee wee level. They are the worst college o-line I have ever seen.
This is the 1st time since 1976 that there aren't any future Pitt Hall of Famers in the NFL. This will probably be the 1st time in a very long time that nobody gets drafted This program is clearly in the bottom half of the ACC in football with no indication of improvement for next year.
These are very dark times.
So is the OC, no knowledge of what to do without better players, he should be moving the pocket some, add in some half-rolls, by now he should know...plus as soon as BC runs a little blitz - free reign right up the middle
A great recruiter??? He may be the poorest recruiter we have ever had, especially on the offensive side.
It started with Dave Borbely‘a recruiting of the OL and so far Jeremy Darveau hasn’t impressed me either. The OL with the holding and false starts still happen at the worse times.
I was being diplomatic. I can’t remember the last recruiting battle we won for a good player.
Especially local guys. There are not many good ones, but hell, we don't even get a sniff anymore.

I mean at least they did us the favor of putting it so far down field from where it was supposed to be that it was obvious in watching it that it was in the wrong place, so we didn't get fooled?

Potentially the worst lineman I've ever seen. He blocks like the quarterback stole his girlfriend. I still laugh at how there were a few on this board saying he looked good against Clemson. He was giving up some WWF shots on our QB.
My first thought is "good god, option with Yarnell!" And then he flips it to Bartholomew, and it makes more sense.

Correct. Especially since players can change programs each year. Coaches don't need to be locked up because many players aren't committing for 4-5 years.
Even having future NFL HOFers on the roster, Pitt's won-loss records were similar to this year. The high point of Aaron Donald at Pitt the Pinstripe Bowl?
I'd actually rather just put a couch there. At least they would have to jump over it. Couldn't be any less of an obstruction than those two guys.
That play on defense epitomizes this team and this defense and this season. Running back should be tackled for a two yard loss, and instead we whiff on the tackle and they gain 12.
