The slow but steady improvement continues. I am very much a realist but I feel everyone should remain very encouraged by what we see. Gavin and Co know what they are doing. So many guys on this team are young but they are battling every match. We should all appreciate the chance we have to watch this program develop before our eyes.
I hope the coaches and parents that are involved with the highschoolers are taking note. Gavin and Co are good people and have an outstanding university that will sell itself.
Wentzel made me look like I might know what I'm talking about in my comment after the Duke match. First, he hangs on to a bad position and gets reversed in the final seconds to lose to Virginia he controlled during the whole match. Today he gets teched by a guy that was as strong as he is and made him pay for his sloppy positioning.
Like Rahmani, if he looks back over this year, gains some humility, and decides to focus his mind to learn from it, he can have a nice career moving forward. If he cant over come his personality, he will be frustrating to watch for three more years as his sloppy attitude inhibits him from reaching his potential. When that constant Kyle Dake posing goes away, you will know he is serious about getting better.
I am still trying to figure out if Bell and Stoudt really want to wrestle.
Does anybody out there know if any middle weights are being recruited. Seems to me there is a lot of potential for a freshman to step in some of those slots next year. How about a 197 Lbs guy. Penn State is over flowing there.
