Loser won't make the NCAAT. The winner also may not but has a decent chance. Both of these teams arent getting in so it could come down to THIS head to head to decide the last spot or 2.
Stop being so damn reactionary about every game. The league season isn’t half over. There are plenty of games to be played. Both these teams may make it and both may be left out. Give it another 3 weeks. Things should be a little clearer then.Loser won't make the NCAAT. The winner also may not but has a decent chance. Both of these teams arent getting in so it could come down to THIS head to head to decide the last spot or 2.

Shut up, seriously? If Pitt loses to fall to 6-4 but then goes 9-1 down the stretch they are out?
Really terrible post
You don’t think Pitt gets in at 14-6? I disagree. 13-7 maybe notSure, they can go 9-1 and make it but they wont. No way the loser of this game makes the NCAAT. Mark it down.

I was replying to the previous poster. If FSU stays as a Q4 loss, they may need to go 14-6. If they move up to Q3, 13-7 may do it. Its stupid but that's the way it is.
While it is a very important game, it is not a must. You never know what will happen, hell, we may with the ACC tournament.Loser won't make the NCAAT. The winner also may not but has a decent chance. Both of these teams arent getting in so it could come down to THIS head to head to decide the last spot or 2.
What if neither make it or what if the loser wins the ACC tournament?Sure, they can go 9-1 and make it but they wont. No way the loser of this game makes the NCAAT. Mark it down.
For a guy who admitted just a couple weeks ago that he had no idea how it works you sure do seem to think that you have it all figured out.
The Conference Within the Conference Game of the Week?
Currently, only 3 teams from the 12 team conference within a conference are going. Miami, Clemson, NC State. The ACC is Duke, UNC, UVa + the Mountain West
I learned. Q4 losses basically cancel out Q1 wins. So right now, 3 Q1 wins + 1 Q4 loss is basically the same as a team with 2 Q1 wins and no Q4 losses. Of course SOS comes into play but assuming the teams are generally equal, that's how it works. This is why Clemson is seen as not far from being a bubble team despite being 16-4. They have 2 Q4 losses despite those losses really not being that bad (at South Carolina, neutral vs Loyola Chicago)
Ha, here I thought our OOC results were pretty poor but we actually have 2 pretty impressive OOC wins, UNC and UVA!!
Yeah at this point it’s not a must because of the # of games remaining. While it is a very important game, it is not a must. You never know what will happen, hell, we may with the ACC tournament.
I don't think you are right, but I do think Pitt is going to pound Wake !Loser won't make the NCAAT. The winner also may not but has a decent chance. Both of these teams arent getting in so it could come down to THIS head to head to decide the last spot or 2.
One at a time is right on Rocky. They have to go out and fight for it like each game is their last. They are going to have to want it more than their opponent. We just need to keep taking one game at a time. Every game we need to treat like it’s a win or we’re out situation. We need to finish strong.
Another hyperbolic SMF post. Shocker!
I agree with you. If they lose tomorrow their NCAAT hope is pretty much over. This is a huge game to prove they are for real. You can’t lose too many at home because road wins are tough to come bySure, they can go 9-1 and make it but they wont. No way the loser of this game makes the NCAAT. Mark it down.
Just stop talkingLittle confused, do you all feel that the loser of this game makes it? I mean they could, but the chances are very very small given what they'd have to do in February/March. So its a really easy prediction that the loser of this game doesn't make it.
Just stop talking
It certainly is not a “play out” game in January. Both teams have plenty of games left. What I would say is this game is low hanging fruit for both Pitt and Wake. It’s a winnable game for both teams against a team that will boost their resume.Little confused, do you all feel that the loser of this game makes it? I mean they could, but the chances are very very small given what they'd have to do in February/March. So its a really easy prediction that the loser of this game doesn't make it.
this one game will not determine Pitt or Wake Forests tournament hopes. That is what everyone is trying to tell you SMF. Your hyperbole that this is an elimination game is what everyone is making fun of you about. It is too early in the season to say something like that
There’s a lot of hyperbole (understatement) in this thread, but I think SMF is taking too much heat. It’s a massive game. You can’t lose 3 games in a row at home in the middle of the conference season and feel like you are going to make the tournament. It’s a bubble team versus a bubble team, and Pitt is staring down a game against Miami where we will not be favored.
So, yea…maybe there aren’t “must win” games this early, but they better not lose, at home, again.
I am waiting for one person to say "You are wrong SMF, I predict the loser of this game will make the NCAAT." Can we get one person to come out and say that?
LolI predict neither will make it. So it's kind of a faulty premise.
