Pitt women lose again...

Pitt women now 0-4 in conference play after 32 point loss to the Orange at the Pete.

The Orange won every statistical category. Pitt shot poorly and was out rebounded by 19.

We are starting 3 seniors. Coach is in a tough spot because of the talent level available to him. Kind of discouraging that the top freshman recruit who Coach Suzie left Coach White is not showing much at all.

Coach White’s class of recruits, plus one incoming transfer, are going to see a ton of playing time next season.

Still hoping Pitt can win a couple from the other poor ACC teams. They already lost to BC in a game where one poor quarter sank Pitt, or they could have snagged a win.

He has his work cut out for him. McConnell was an unmitigated disaster.

The game tonight was actually close late into the second quarter. Syracuse got out to a six point lead by halftime, so it was still manageable at that point. And then they outscored Pitt in the third quarter 28-8.

Pitt shot 21% in the 2nd half, 31% for the game. They just don't have anyone that can consistently put the ball in the basket.

By the way, the incoming transfer is already here and has been on the bench with the team. She definitely has some good size to her. Let's hope she has a good game to her as well.

Same ole, same ole. Mid level talent playing in a very tough ACC. These blowouts
are exactly what we expected and have been saying for months. We still can
get a few wins in conference because there are a few poor teams.
I feel our women players hustle and work hard. I also feel our coaches
are doing well with the players they have. We hung with Syracuse for
awhile (one half actually) but their talent took over and wore us down.
It's going to take a few years, but this staff is going in the right direction IMO.

Primarily a recruiting disaster. She never landed a true ACC quality big or point. Had initial success with the future WNBA point she inherited and the 5th year senior 6-3 volley ball player whose volley ball eligibility had ended. After that the bottom fell out. The only ACC quality players she was able to recruit were 2-guards and wings. Once many (most?) of them tired of losing they transferred out.
