Please fire Matt Canada

I didn’t see anything but the overtime. But just in looking at Trubisky’ stats it would appear that the dink and dunk is alive and well. I could be wrong and I’m sure someone will correct me if so. But if I’m right, someone better check on @Fk_Pitt.
I think the anemic offense is a function of the play calling, which uses sweeps and short low risk passing to compensate for the terrible run game and to keep the QB from getting killed. (So just like last year.) That succeeded in the sense of no sacks or INTs. But it is too easy to defend if they don’t have to worry about going over the top, and when Mitch did have a WR open down field he usually either didn’t see him or misfired. So yeah, the offense blows but Mitch doesn’t help it.

In the offseason, there was some film posted of Najee's interior running skillset and it wasn't very good. It was something you can't really diagnose during a game. But, it was about a 10 minute tape of endzone film where he really displayed poor vision and/or decision making. It really reminded me of KiJana Carter and Saquon Barkley's issues in the NFL.
I don’t know if this is the same video that you referenced, but it shows some of his All-22 film. That run against LAC at 6:30 must drive the coach nuts. You have to feel for the guy going from that Alabama OL to the Steelers line (relative to comp). I’m sure he gets frustrated and wants to create big plays. But it is amazing how many times he passes on hamburger because he thinks he smells steak.

One more thing occurred to me while watching MNF. Did anyone notice Mitch get chased out of bounds for a -2 yard run? Only 2 yard loss but it drives me crazy to see a pro QB do that. It drove me nuts when Tino did it. There are HS kids who are aware enough to throw it away out of bounds.

To be honest, given the OL he has here and the coaching/roster in Chicago, I think it's premature to call Trubisky average at best yet. I was moderately impressed with what he was able to do yesterday under extreme duress in his first game as the starter.
What are you talking about? He was horrible minus a couple of throws. Awful actually. Are you related to the man or something?

Probably my biggest beef with Tomlin is his assistant coaching selections.

and as far as Canada, I don’t know why they don’t take more shots down the field and let their athletes make plays. This is a terribly thrown ball here, and Trubisky would have averaged about 4 yards per attempt if not for this incredible effort by The receiver.

I thought it was obvious while watching the game. They weren't taking shots down field to help the line out. This was confirmed after the game.

Here's the issue imo. Trubisky isn't very accurate so too many of the short passes were missed to sustain drives. Canada's play calling would be fine if they only had an accurate QB on the roster....

Typical knee-jerk yinzer response (OP). Give him an offensive line and see what a "genius" he becomes.

I watched Terrible run plays and bad wr routes not creating and opening
These a play design and calling issues -
They won’t improve
The OL was fine this game

My beef with Canada from the get go was the stuff he had success with in the college game doesn't translate to the NFL.

The jet sweeps, shovel passes, gimickery he employed doesn't work where you're going against such huge, fast defensive personnel.

The defenses are talented enough to defend that stuff pretty easily.
The NFL is a downfield passing game nowadays. Even smash mouth is passe.

Never thought Canada would succeed regardless of personnel, and with a below average OLine, he's even more doomed.

I mean if you’re going to do a bunch of horizontal plays - it has to result in sucking up the safeties to go over the top
