Mine are going back full time, thankfully. The virtual stuff should be better than the Spring but there is no substitute for being in school.

Daughter is a senior at Pitt. She has two in-person labs, the rest is remote.

Son starting his first year of trade school (auto repair). 3 weeks remote and then in-person.

I had a choice between 2 days in school 3 days online vs full online. I chose full online even though I wanted hybrid. Too much risk to be around my parents (83 yo and 75 yo) and my wife father and mother (74 yo and 68 yo).

We see them once a week minimum since we had our son 13 years ago. If we sent him we would not even see them Thanksgiving or Christmas because it would be too risky.

I hope this resolves soon because I know it is best for him everyway possible: academically, mentally, physically, emotionally to be in actual school. Those things just don't suffer enough for the risk to be worth sending him. This was also supposed to be his first year of tackle football, he only played flag to this point. Now that he is in 7th grade and there is a coach not a dad (even if I was the coach I still hate daddy ball) I was finally going to let him play tackle this year. I also bet I hold him out of wrestling this year too.

If I didn't have to worry about his grandparents I would have sent him and allowed him to play also. The risk of serious illness in his age group is low I would have been fine with it. But the risk of him getting it and spreading it to my parents and in-laws is too high.
