If Pitt can ever make a bowl game that isn’t in nyc, Detroit or birMingham please make it to the pop tarts bowl. Looks like a great time.

It’s the old Tangerine Bowl that has been re-imagined under various names (like Camping World bowl, etc.) Pop Tarts did a great marketing job with that giant toaster thing.
Orlando, FL. Warm weather. Disney close by. Agree, for one of the non-CFP bowls would be a nice trip as a reward for players and fans.
But after the CFP games now, it’s all about what teams have the fewest guys in the Portal, or less opt outs and/or injuries. They are really just early spring games in many cases.
And even teams in the CFP are losing players now. Like Beau Pribula. It’s so much about the individual now. Not the team. $$$$$$$ and personal gain driven. Not anything like the bowl season used to be.

Speaking of marketing, I watched Pitt’s 5-hour game and never once heard what the hell Game Above is and what they do.
Players want to be able to enroll at a new school in January. So that would be a VERY tight window.
It seems as if lots of these reforms to give the players more freedom and financial opportunities were done without concern about any long-term implications or impact with regard to the sport of college football. But that was the primary intent, apparently. So we have what we have.
The benefits to the players take precedent over anything else.

Looks like Ward has opted out of the 2H. That’s another approach we’ve seen taken by some players in bowl games now.
Almost like an NFL preseason game. Probably not a bad approach for coaches looking to get a look at future starters.
