I respect Jamie and what he has done here. I think he is a good coach, and a great representative of the university. That being said, I'm ok if he leaves. He deserves to go to TCU if that is what his heart and family says. Pitt will be good without him. The program has hit a wall, and doesn't have that swagger or energy it once had, but is still a respected program. I really believe if this goes down, Gallagher and Barnes will get the right guy as they did with Narduzzi. I believe Barnes has a lot of connections and is very well-respected, especially since he was head of the NCAA selection committee. There are many good coaches out there that wouldn't mind a program like Pitt and a conference like the ACC. Losing an established coach can go either way, but with mediocrity an issue right now, I don't think a change would have a negative effect. On the other hand, if Jamie stays, he needs to get the program a shot in the arm with some high-level recruits and big wins, or we will be in the same place down the road for many years, because this conference will only get better.
