I have to post this, because I have bashed avonte for years.
The kid has my respect. Not for his abilities as much as his personality. He played in a system he didn't fit in, and he got burnt time and time again. I can't think of him complaining one time though.
He got beat and he got up and played his heart out again.
In all reality he probably isn't a bad corner in a zone system, but he was our number 1 until midway through this year, and he drew bigger and stronger guys. The kid worked his butt off, and he actually had a half decent year once the first three games were done.
I give him props for the way he always gave 100 percent. He is a great guy and he is a warrior.
