That's a shame for Reid. Great player who is a difference maker on defense and special teams.
Haven't their fans (the true victims by the way) suffered enough? Isn't there a God?
Just more anticipation for the upcoming game in September and good luck to both players on each Teams. Penn State fans cannot wait to wipe up Pitt and it is on every Nittany Lion's mind, and with almost all their Players back, just last year for Pitt, this time Pitt starts a New QB with a New OC, some OLs, RBs, and TEs. as well as, having to rebuild DLs, LBs, and still improve the DBs.
Wade was promised he would play right away and expect he will be ready.
I am usually over excited every year on Pitt, but I still think Pitt is going to be a big surprise in 2017, Just a Hunch!
It is going to be a great game and no shame in playing it again, just like last year.

I want to see how good New Recruit Smith is another Boyd? Still, Weah, Henderson, Matthews, Ford with others and even Ffrench will do just fine. I am just worried about the Tight End. Orndoff was so great last year.
Scott was a serious bad ass, no question he was great.
If you go over to the BWI board and I personally urge you all to do so, you'll see that the delusion continues. If you ask them, they have Ty Law, Darrell Green and Charles Woodson on their bench ready to replace him.
And they probably do. it's just that they have Norv Turner coaching them.
They may have. But those 3 guys likely aren't going to be much help.
TE has me very concerned because of Clark's inability to stay on the field & take advantage of practice, take some hit's , body blows & get used to the physical play.
The kid just always seems to be watching from the sideline. I know he comes w/ great size, ability, etc. but there is a point where he will stagnate while everyone else will just bypass him. You cannot rely on what you did in H.S. & your potential. At some point he needs to be working on getting better himself.
And this is exactly where a kid like Devon Edwards & athletes/football players like him are so valuable to a program. Devon is going to be a 3 year letterman who has been very serviceable on Special teams, as a blocking TE in goalline situations & then last year as a DE.
Not every kid will be a go to star but you sure do need kids like Edwards to do whatever it is the team needs & do it good enough to get the job done.
I like the TE's coming in Aug. but they will not really hit their stride until mid season at best & it might take a full year.
Just saying that Chris Clark has got to start getting work out on the field or we just may not be as blessed as we once thought w/ his transfer. I am just being realistic....everyone needs to take ass whoopin's in practice regardless how good you may be. It prepares the body, mind, etc.

I think the whole "move to safety" talk was just a way for them to let him believe they would find a way to get him on the field. PSU has some upper classman CB's who are pretty good(not real good but solid guys) Wade wanted to play early so they told him he could go to safety and play earlier if he couldn't beat out the experienced CB's. I don't think they ever really expected to move him, it was just a way to get him to sign his LOI. Much like people telling athletic QB's that they will give them a shot there first, and they might, but in reality they are almost positive they will move them to another spot.
Like most programs, not named Alabama, they probably have 2 or 3 good young CB's. But Reid was just as talented and had 3 years experience. Thats the difference, Pitt had several well thought of young CB's last year as well. But they didn't have any experience and you see how that worked out.
kid from RU was a big add because it adds some depth at TE. He isn't a great player and won't likely play on sundays but he is a solid backup who won't kill you if clark can't capitalize on his potential. Similar to the QB situation. You needed to bring someone else in or all the eggs were going to be one basket and if they didn't work out or got injured your in real trouble. Now we have a little bit of depth at both spots.
