There are number that have open up Visitations and withheld expected Commitments.
As stated last year this is why Franklin needs an Extension this year not just a Cheer Leading Speech from AD Barbour, and has to win 8 Games to hold onto Recruits already committed and those considering Penn State as a finalists later.
To be fair, Coach Moorhead 's Offense needs 5 to 6 games to implement and Maryland will be a good test before Ohio state, Iowa, and MSU challenges. Purdue and Indiana will help perfect it.
However, how to win 10 games next few years will have to beat OSU, Michigan, Wisky, Nebraska, Iowa, MSU and Pitt.
It is not Negative Recruiting hurting Franklin it is a "Negated Extension" and "Positive Winning" in a Top 25 Program Loaded with Income, Recruiting, Coaching Clinics, and Boosters Resources.
Now all Big Ten Programs have Good Resources and some of have better Coaches.
This year is what Franklin's has is his First year, and so 2017 and 2018 have to be much better with recruits he took the last 2 years and now this year.
If Franklin can get that Extension it will give him more time to prove it, but Penn State may not want to do it on their Dime unless they see 8 Wins this year?
A one Year Extension would not help either, that is usually the kiss of death for any Coach.

JoePa was not under Penn State Institutional Athletic Integrity Control and often recruited many Thugs later arrested. Only the PSU Alumni Fan Base came to believe the Slogans and did know how bad the Penn State Program was not in NCAA and Big Ten Conference Compliance's. The NCAA Monitor 2012 PSU Reforms were put in place to correct and update the enforcement and restore Penn State NCAA and Big-10 Presidential & Trustee Institutional Control and Complianecs.
James Franklin is under Penn State Presidential Institutional Control and has recruited far better Character Recruits with few to little Off Field Arrests and Problems. The Penn State Alumni can actually be more proud of James Franklin and Bill O'Brien's recruiting than JVP's that required many 2012 Reforms? Penn State Fans hate hearing that but it is the old reality history proven in fact versus slogans that more true today.
