They did well on the broadcasts. Julius is at the level where he can do this full time for a living.

Seem like good kids. Very good players.

As far as players, they aren’t the 2 best in the last 15 years

Kids? Fine young men is more like it since it is 2018, now.

In person, Ron Ramon is one of the funniest people I've ever heard. I happened to sit near the team a couple times at Greentree. He was hilarious, particularly as an instigator in getting guys fired up at each other.

I like the two players and their personalities, but they were definitely not the best two players since Brandin Knight.

I didn't know Ron very well, but was able to speak with him several times and he was just a really cool guy.

He's also one of my favorite players, just because of the beauty of his jump shot.

Anyway, here's a Ron Ramon trivia question for all:

Among all of Pitt's leader All-Time Scorers, only Ron holds this unique distinction -- what is it?

@Joe the Panther Fan -- no peaking at the media guide.

I’ll take a stab - number of game winners/buzzer beaters

Never averaged more than 10 points per game?

I always thought that was interesting about him, not sure if it’s unique.

No ... LOL ... not sure that's a stat that's an official stat was that was ever tracked. What other ones did he have besides ND as a frosh and the legendary WVU shot?

I always thought Fields was the best clutch deep shooter in Pitt history.

OK State in 2007 (3 in OT)
Duke game
At Conn in 2009
OK State in NCAA tourney
Xavier shot

I'm sure there were more.

That's it -- well done!

He's Pitt's only 1,000 point scorer never to average double digits in a season. In fact, his highest season average was 8.8 points per game.

I didn’t think that was it. And after I posted it I did think Fields probably was the one who had that - if such a thing could be determined.

I knew that, but I was actually thinking a slightly different direction. I was going to go with the only 1000 point scorer to score more points on threes than on ones and twos, but it looks like Sean Miller did that as well.

Sam Young and DeJuan Blair would both like a word.
I agree...Page and Ramon were good players and seemed like nice guys, but the OP went a bit overboard with the accolades.

Everytime I snuck a peak of the game, I kept wondering who the other commentator with Page was, but I never stuck around long enough to find out. It's been so long that I didn't recognize Ramon and forgot what he looked like.

The Ramon Ppg Stat is an interesting one and a partly a function of playing in good teams. Only one ball. Plus the model to win was different. Only needed so many points.

They were great on the broadcast!
It's refreshing to listen to announcers who speak plain people speak, and tell it like it is!

If you like giggling they were great

You say you're "refreshed" by those "who speak plain people speak."
I guess that explains your affection for Wm F Buckley
