*The public doesn't know what is happening inside the program. ADs have to evaluate the atmosphere of the program behind closed doors as much as W's and L's.
*It doesn't matter if it's the first year, second year or at any other point in a coach's tenure, if you go winless you have a "coaching situation that needs to be addressed"
*If you are an AD of a major D1 program, you always have 5 names to go to
*The hiring of Stallings was met with a lot of criticism. Has to be a major factor because this program has to win its fan base back.
*The BC comparison is only a good one if there is a Jerome Robinson or Ky Bowman either on the roster or coming
I have to say, I've never heard Dakich so positive and complimentary of such a bad team, but I think he and Stallings are friends from their days playing against each other at IU and Purdue, respectively.
BTW, the montage they showed with Pitt's accolades from 2002-16 gave me tears of pride. What a program we had!
