Yeah it was. Not in my lifetime.Heck, it wasn't all that long ago that DUQUESNE was a national power.
You know Knight is going to grab him by the throat to bring home his point! The subtext of Knight about to give the backhanded slap to his guard is more interesting.
Recent enough that I can remember.Yeah it was. Not in my lifetime.
Rod Strickland and Stanley Brundy were on that team too. Kevin Edwards, I think came a year later. David Booth in 87. Nice squad, but Illinois killed their momentum.

But that's over 50 years ago.'60s (when I started paying attention to sports) up into the early '70s. I understand they had an even more illustrious history before I was born.
Yeah in the late 70's and early 80's Pitt and Duquesne (and WVU) were all on the same level. Then Pitt went to the Big East, became a recruiting juggernaut and probably with DePaul in that era, one of the most disappointing programs when it came to post season success.Duquesne went to the Final 4 twice, 1940 and 1952, haven't been to the NCAAs since 1977, Norm Nixon was the star of that team, he later won 2 NBA titles with the Show Time Lakers.
Didn't they have the Nelson twins or some brothersRecent enough that I can remember.
I think that was the last time they were top 10.Didn't they have the Nelson twins or some brothers
