I know sometimes as fans, we are fickly and sometimes too critical of our team but we played 4 garbage teams the 1st 4 games last year in YSU, Troy, VMI, and Central Arkansas and won every game by double digits with the exception of one 9 point win. We were pumped and excited and we were very unrealistic in terms of expectations until we were awaken once the schedule beefed up. This year we are 2-2 and 1-1 vs Power 6 schools. I also agree that our returning players have had their share of struggles, some more than others but consider the schedule when you look below and analyze/compare the stats. If you consider the competition, some have improved, some have regressed, and some are about the same vs. a tougher schedule. It’s definitely not time to panic. At best, this team is an NIT team so let’s keep it in perspective.
Let’s just don’t forget this year’s schedule includes WVU and FSU since we tend to look too critically at our product vs the quality of competition. Good competition affects efficiency. Also, we must not forget that Nicholls went into OT with Illinois and lost to LSU by 10.
