Revis and Fitz

Were at Pitt at the same time. So it had me thinking about future NFL HOFers who played on the same college team. I’m sure there are a few. But thought it may be good discussion.

Since it’s PSU week, I will mention them. Jack Ham and Franco Harris were at PSU together, however Franco wasn’t a big time college player.

I’m also thinking of another Pitt tandem...

Yes. Was also thinking Marino and Fralic/Covert but neither have made the Hall. Both Fralic and Covert made the NFL all decade team but having fallen short of the Pro football HOF.

Ok. I knew there was something flawed with my post. The reason I posted was that I heard Mike White talking about the battles that those two had on the practice field at Pitt were the best he has ever seen. But I don’t remember them playing together. Maybe there is an overlap in their time at Pitt but I don’t think there is.

Revis and Fitz? No clue what he was talking about, fitz left after his sophomore year which was the ‘03 tire bowl season. Revis was a true freshman on the ‘04 fiesta bowl team.

Russ Grimm was also on these teams (79,80) That makes 3 from same team into NFL HOF. Then after Jackson and Grimm left, Chris Doleman came in giving 2 from the 81,82 teams. Some exciting teams!

So tough for OL as the years go by, especially guards. Gotta hope/ trust the Old Timer committee or whatever its called to address.
