with the "bashing" of the Pitt program whenever possible.
The guy in my opinion, is quite simply, a DOUCHE BAG.
For him to say that Pitt was "outclassed" and that anything less then 9 wins would be a "let down" is just foolish. http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/...hitehead-a-silver-lining/stories/201511080191
Ron Cook, the penn state apologist, was "outclassed" by Vinnie Richichi and has never gotten over that...

Huh? Out-played? Sure.

But "out-classed"? Does Cook even know what that word means?

Cook is indeed a dik but some of you look for reasons. I would venture to guess he's saying Notre Dame is in a different class talent wise, not classy as in good people and a bunch of gentlemen. And he's 100% correct. I'm still optimistic long term but they are very much in need of more talent.

I think Pitt will be fine once they recruit a little more speed. Your coach has come in and has done a very good job in year one..

He's a drunk and alcoholic has been he hates Pitt fans as does poni who went off on a tirade yesterday when one Pitt caller pointed out the talent disparity is based on three lost recruiting classes in 5 years.

These guys are a waste of electricity on the radio. Heard Poni pick up on a moron who called asking of Johnny Majors could be booed because he went to a Penn State game to see his ole buddy James from State College.
He went on and on about how ridiculous Pitt fans were for insinuating this, like it was a universal feeling.
These guys try to be "Shock Jocks" and usually fail miserably. No talent hacks on a worthless radio station.

I havent read anything he has puked out in a over a decade, given that he is such a dimwitted troll pos, if I am getting this right, that he would suggest that the panthers BOTH were outclassed AND anything less than 9 wins is a disappointment ...

It was hard for the guy to write an article just after his UPS team got beat on a last second field goal, he was probably still crying onto his keyboard.

Cook said EXACTLY what he intended to say, I'm pretty sure that he chose his words carefully. They guy ALWAYS kicks Pitt when they lose and when they win, he'll bring up the ""Pitt hasn't lost less then 3 games in the last 30+ years" or "Pitt hasn't been relevant in college football for the last 30+ years" nonsense.
By the way, I disagree that ND is in a different class talent wise then Pitt is. Pitt's 3 loses have been at the hands of the teams currently ranked at #6th, 8th and 17th. They are relevant and depending on the day and how the two teams play, Pitt could have beaten all three of them.

we were outclassed and it's really tough to argue about his "anything less than 9-3" comment too. after being 6-1 and ranked in the top 25, even going 2 - 3 in the last 5 is pretty disappointing.. Can you really argue otherwise? Honestly, id be ok with 8-4, given that UNC is a damn good team.. We really REALLY need to win 2 out of the last 3.. If we go 1 and 2 in these last 3 and finish 7 - 5, that's bad folks..

Many of you simply have gotten to the point where you no longer can be objective about anything Ron Cook writes....even though he has written favorably about Pitt....just not as much as many of you want.

As for the 9-3 expectation.......I'm with him. If Pitt can beat iowa, UNC and ND....as some on here suggest....than losing to any of the three remaining teams is underacheiving.

i for one welcome that challenge and expect Pitt to win all three

But I think big.....knowing there is no downside to doing so.

Many of you OTOH....have accepted what Pitt has given you longer than I care to remember.

Im glad the new administration seems to think like myself....and not like many of you.

Pretty bizarre since Pitt lost to Iowa, UNC, and ND! Not real relevant what people on here think, it has much more to do with what the team actually does on the field.
2 more wins would be great. 3 more would be fantastic. Winning a bowl on top of that would break the expectation meter.

Can anyone recall what his pre-season prediction was for Pitt? I'd be curious to know what it was.

By the way, I disagree that ND is in a different class talent wise then Pitt is.

Then you're either an unobjective homer or clueless. Name another player outside of Whitehead, Boyd or Price (situationally) that would sniff any significant time on the field for ND. Guess what? You can't. Well actually maybe you can but you'd be wrong. ND is head and shoulders more talented than Pitt. My goodness their back up QB and backup RB are miles better than our starters. Wouldn't be the case if Connor was playing but that's just where we're at.

He is an ass-Ok, Say Pitt goes 9-3, his article will be 'What could have been'.- here
Pitt finishes strong-but, What could have been?
"Just think if Pitt had the special James Connor all year? If a green Narduzzi didn't turtle vs Iowa? Or the forever apathetic Pitt fan base showed up on a Thursday night? What could have been... Maybe break their streak of 34 year at least 3 losses while playing in the Weak ACC? Like the late, great Joe Paterno said, if you're not 5 minutes early, your late.' And now the special Tyler Boyd will enter draft and probably also Connor. With a killer schedule next year including the return of Penn State and their rabid fans, what can Pitt fans look forward to? What could have been......Ron C

I don't think that is so bad. 7-5 isn't bad at all with what we have to work with. We seem to be evenly matched with the last 3 opponents. It would be nice to win at least 2 of 3, but going 1-2 isn't a disaster. This thing is going to take a few years to fix.

Don't buy the pg, don't click on his links. And troll micco's chat.

But the new POS is Tim Benz who is really spewing the garbage lately.

The AP and cbs sports (polls) are giving Iowa lots of attention whether they deserve it or not. The Daily Iowan needs Ron Cook to come out and write for them so as tell everyone how irrelevant Iowa football really is!

I would chip in for that airline ticket. Cook does not deserve to be employed in PITTsbugh.

They will figure it out soon enough. Just wait until they get boatraced in the B1G Championship game and if they get a decent opponent in a bowl game.

Typical Cook. He writes an article praising Whitehead but leads it off with a long Pitt bash session.

another assclown like Benz.

Going 2-3 down the stretch won't be disappointing to anyone with an understanding of college football and the relative strength of the teams on this schedule. While Pitt played a disproportionate number of away games to start the season, the degree of difficulty of the later games this season is much higher. Pitt's best win to date is over an inconsistent Georgia Tech team. The results in the last two games shouldn't surprise anyone - UNC and ND are much more talented than the previous teams that Pitt beat. That Ron Cook is disappointed either speaks to his lack of intelligence or his desire to rile Pitt fans (or more probably, both).

He had two positive Pitt articles in a row so now he must make up for it with 10 more years of bashing them. Not only is he terrible I have zero respect for him as a person after an article he wrote before PSU/Ohio in 2012. He started it off by saying it was so great that Penn State was starting the healing process. That is so insulting he might as well go up to the kids that were victimized carrying a Paterno cardboard cutout and laugh in their faces.

We have two, need a few more.

"King"...I am neither. What I am is a realist. At the beginning of the year I said that Pitt would go 7-5, so at this point in time, with a 6-3 record, I am quite pleased with the season so far. Is ND a better team then Pitt? Based upon Saturday's results...yes, but that doesn't mean they were "head and shoulders" better then them. North Carolina just beat Duke 66-31 on Saturday, does that make them "head and shoulders" better then them? No, it does not.
Pitt was "out played" by ND on Saturday, they were not "out classed".

They deserve to be BASHED after that crappy performance vs. ND, and if they don't win 8-9 it is a poor performance, only weak ass, homer, rose colored glasses wearing, 6th grade girlie little cheerleader apologists wouldn't acknowledge that. But realistic, true Pitt fans who want to REALLY become the real deal will acknowledge that TRUTH. REAL Pitt fans, who care about the program becoming relevant will tell THE TRUTH and openly say "They are NOT there yet", until they really are.

I'm sure you were able to judge the Pitt performance while watching adolescent girls running around the pitch.

I DVRed it and watched the whole game starting at around 2:00 PM after my daughter's game was over. Let me say, only an A-hole of dirt bag parent would put watching some college football game over their own kid's event, no matter the level, from your comments I assume you would choose watching a Pitt game over your own kid's lives.

That you are 100% correct about. So how is losing to Notre Dame shameful and what makes anyone think we should've beat them?
It's not shameful just as bashing them is not something to be upset or ashamed about.

There have been a couple things I've disagreed with Pitt79 about, but the bashing he receives here is ridiculous. He's clearly a Pitt fan, so he can't go to his daughter's games? How has nobody else pointed this out before? I don't know any parent that would not go to their kids games.
