Ryan Odom Watch

read your post wrong. I think they could’ve done it if they beat Vandy and VCU but not sure they can get the 13+ ACC wins they now need.

20 games left.. need 12-13 wins and 1-2 in the ACCT to have a chance. NET we're in the 80s.. actually ahead of 8-1 TCU rn. Too bad we didn't load up on jokes in the non conference like Jamie would.

out of the 20 they have left, @VT, @UNC, @Duke, @Miami, UVA are the games where I don't feel great. You could maybe lump in UNC home game as well. However, I'd be surprised if we lost all of those games.. I'd also be surprised if we won every game we're supposed to. I really don't think 13 more regular season wins is a crazy thought.

Odom would be a good hire. He’s not the best they could make but he’d win here and he’d take it… THIS YEAR. If certain jobs open he could be off the market next year.

Success relative to resources in the league is the only way to judge if a coach could be successful at Pitt.

Like if you were to hire a Duke assistant, who was the only head coach since 1980 at Oklahoma to not make a final four… they probably wouldn’t be successful at Pitt.

Roy's best team in 08-09

I dont think Odom is going to be available. He may be like that #1 coaching prospect type. My guess is Keatts gets fired and he goes to NC State.

We would need at LEAST 22 wins including the ACC tournament to get a tournament berth. That's a really tall order at this point.

We finish over .500, we keep the recruiting class: I bring him back.

After that decision is made, he will need to score in the transfer portal.

Still not seeing a good coach, but he can recruit.

Wow Gary. You’re the last person I thought would be willing to give him a 4th rebuild with another missed NCAA birth

Maybe he has had incredibly bad luck (see Ralph Willard).

Maybe patience can work here.

The team looks better. It would look even better with a healthy Hugley, Dior, Jeffress and McNeilly. The team has looked very competitive "at different times" during the Capel tenure. Maybe this year we sustain it.

Maybe the biggest problem was selfish players.(and I know the coach recruits and molds).

I still don't know if he can coach. I don't like his reaction to losses like the Citadel. His excuse making drives me crazy, but...

The guy has brought in and continues to bring in players. The inability to recruit is what started our decline.

Recruiting is a big deal, particularly here.

We dug a big hole. Maybe it is realistic to take it this long to recover.

One year, maybe bad luck. Two? A coincidence. He’s had multiple years of “bad luck”. Some guys are better as 2nd in command

The Dior situation is not bad luck. He’s not even supposed to be here. He recruited Pitt because no one else would take him anymore. This was the team he was gonna roll with headed into June.
