Pitt is #36 in the Sagarin Ratings as of yesterday's games, and has played the #4 ranked schedule (#10-PSU, #15-UCF, #37-UVA & #77 Ohio).
We all know that the schedule gets easier on paper. We also know that we are talking about PITT here, so they can win or lose any game that they play.
Yesterday made it fun to think about Pitt football for the rest of the season, and I thank this team for that.
And I think this is becoming a good football team.
It always has to be one game at a time with Pitt Football, but here is what Mr. Sagarin says, and October is a HUGE month of toss-up games for this Pitt team. A 3-game stretch that will define this season...
9/28 - vs. #151 Delaware - PITT by 31.0
10/5 - @ #51 Duke - PITT by 0.5
10/18 - @ #38 Cuse - Cuse by 2.0
10/26 - vs. #29 Miami - PITT by 1.0
11/2 - @ #83 GTech - PITT by 8.0
11/14 - vs. #47 UNC - PITT by 5.5
11/23 - @ #69 VTech - PITT by 4.5
11/30 - vs. #81 BC - PITT by 14.0
This team could finish the regular season 6-6 or it could be 10-2.
I like this TEAM. I like their guts. I like this Defense. I like OCMW. And Kenny, while having flaws (like still missing wide open guys), has guts.
Again, October presents a HUGE stretch of games. I am going with 2-1 in that stretch, 7-1 with the 8 games above and 9-3 for the season.
