Seems like it's all but final though when you consider the other factors at play.
1. OSU hired an experienced defensive coordinator away from Washington State. I know OSU is big-time and can do that, but I find it hard to believe someone would leave a DC job at a P5 school for a demotion at a blue blood.
2. Schiano has no future in college football. He can't rise above DC. Tennessee stained him forever. No school can be the one that says it doesn't care about what happened at Tennessee, it'll hire him. Fair or not, Schiano was basically blackballed for life by the Tennessee fans.
