Schmidt and Cluess not in running per PZ

YESSSSSSS!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

I actually wouldn't have had an issue with cluess though if it came down to him. Schmidt though, such a huge relief, that was my worst nightmare.

Oats is the worst possible choice. Almost no HC experience. Zero ACC or regional ties. No experience in rebuilds.

I do. Oats has only three years HC experience and has only sustained a winner. It would be a prayer at best. Schmidt has at least turned around losers twice. Neither has major conference experience even as an assistant.

Odom would be my choice actually. From ACC region, has big conference experience as an assistant, turned around losers, and has been a HC.

What 2 losers has he turned around, surely you’re not counting Robert Morris?

Adams and Mobley were literally their whole team, both scored almost 2000 points and both will play pro ball. That’s rare in the A10 where your 2 starting guards are that accomplished, and it carried them.

They are pretty much starting over next year after this run, and if he’s still there I fully expect them to finish below .500 again, a spot Schmidt has been in many, many times in his career.

I am. Took over for Danny Nee.

Im sorry to hear they had a good year with two good guards. They are the only ones I guess.

The problem is that their aren’t that many coaches that appear to want the job.

The monkey wrench that got thrown into this whole thing is when just about the entire roster asked to be released. I don't think the administration anticipated that reaction from the players. I have to believe it's the lack of a committed roster that is making the job such a tough sell.

-Oats has more conference championships in 3 years then Schmidt has in 30 years. Discuss....

-Oats has 3 four star recruits in 2 years. Schmidt has not landed a Top 300 recruit in 30 years. Discuss....

-Oats landed the #2 juco in the country. Averaged 16 and 6 this year. Schmidt?

Would rather have chuckwaka shooting threes and grabbing no rebounds

Probably didn’t.
SOP
Same old Pitt

Three weeks ago we had a bad coach and a bad team.......now we have no coaches and no players.
Got punked on our No 1 pick and the job now looks like a real killer don’t it..lol

Yet that’s viewed as progress around here.

Schmidt turned around losers twice? Where? He never turned around RMU. His best conference record there was 10-8 and finishing 3rd, in 6 seasons. It took him 5 years to have a blip of success at SBU, but really 9 years to consider things "turned around". NINE YEARS!!!

He is a terrible recruiter.

Oats didn't have to turn Buffalo around, but he sustained success and got to the tournament twice in three years. Schmidt has been twice in 17 years.

Oats is a good (maybe very good?) recruiter.

Bull S#i#. Basketball only takes 2 or 3 good players to be competitive. A good recruiter doesn't care about that. Pay the money get the great coach.

Sorry Fellows.....Schmitt is definitely still in it. I have no idea why either

This is that weird circular type of argument where you are crediting two players, and not the coach who recruited them and developed them, for the success of the team. I think getting a couple of potential future pros to play at St Bonnie’s is deserving of some credit. Oats on the other hand was simply handed the clipboard for a league champion mid-major real coming off a NCAA tourney appearance. His recruits that everyone is crowing about are largely transfers, including one, Wes Clark, who played for Oats at Romulus high 4 years ago. He has done a good job of keeping the train on the tracks and getting back to the tournament. He may be a superstar in the making, but he’s a total wild card as of right now.

Again, I don’t want Schmidt either, he won’t do $hit to re-energize the program, but this idea that Schmidt is a loser and Oats is a far superior coach is just bunk.

To me, people could have said all the same things about Howland when he was hired that’s theure saying about Schmidt now, and I think he worked out pretty well.

Howland was young and upcoming when he got here.

-Well, besides the fact Hurley never coached Buffalo's Top 3 scorers. Or the fact Buffalo landed a Juco All American last year and beat out schools like Texas Tech, TCU, and Texas for him. And the fact Buffalo has more 4 star players coming in next year. Or the fact Buffalo's whole team is coming back next year. I mean, I guess Hurley last year was recruiting for Buffalo when that Juco All American signed with Buffalo over all those Big 12 schools.

Sorry to hear your life isn't going like you hoped. Maybe your luck will change in the future.

Based on Fact. We are interviewing Trash. You can't be this Naive and Stupid. Oats turned the Job down to Stay in Buffalo.

Please wake up and Pay Attention..

I don't think that has been said, at all. I think it is clear Schmidt isn't a recruiter or a quick turnaround guy. He hasn't won a lot, ever. Oats inherited a better situation, but he did better in 3 years than Schmidt in 17 and is clearly a better recruiter. He offers hope/promise. Schmidt is a guarantee of failure, especially since it is almost a foregone conclusion the roster would be empty with him this first year.

I still wonder how much Stallings encouraged them to do that. It would fit well with his personality.

Unless I missed it, I’m still waiting for his “I enjoyed my time there, wish Pitt success in the future” parting statement that classy people usually make.

I am sure Stallings has played a part in that, but I have absolutely no doubt Dan Cage is doing it and doing it in a very toxic way without any regard for any of these kids.

Classy people lie?

Lol........ truth hurts!

I got some change in my cup holder for you... so you don’t have to embarrass yourself in the future.

Thats about all you have is change.......that drive through window at MCdonalds doesnt provide for much more. But hey I can see how it makes you feel important to have "Inside scoops" 10 minutes earlier than the rest of the world.

When the guy running this site put it out there. I figured ide share the info with you free loaders.

So I guess you owe me for giving you free information. However, don’t worry about it. A couple bucks a month don’t hurt me like it does you.

Well cheap skate........ you can throw Oats off your list. See what a little change will get you lol

That's certainly a component of class and good manners. "Mrs. Gary2 your hair looks lovely today", "Gary2, that was a thoughtful post".
I thought if you had nothing good to say (and why would you?) that you should say nothing at all
