And Hurley lost his marbles again. 🤪 Huge technical foul on him late that cost his team dearly when they still had a chance to win.
Miller needs to send a fruit basket to Hurley. You couldn’t pick the dumbest time to get a technical foul. That technical changed any momentum UCONN had and turned it into a huge swing. Hurley deserves criticism from every media outlet about his coaching today.
I don't understand why some of these people really think he's one of the worst coaches in America. Scale of 1 to 10, he's a 7. Some of you act like he's a 1 or 2
Nobody said he was a bad coach, questionable recruiting, yes, but completely helped out by an idiot who couldn’t control himself and cost his team any chance to compete late in the game. Hurley screwed his team royally.
A lot of people on this board, including BballinsiderfromPitt, Joe, and others think he's one of the worst coaches in the country.
One of the worst people and an average coach. Always has elite jobs. Freaking Travis Steele was .500 at Xavier and Chris Mack is a legend there. It’s one of the easiest jobs in America.

What I have said is that there are few coaches who do less with more talent than Miller.
No, many have said he's one of the very worst coaches in America. Its mind boggling.
For the record, I have never said any such thing. He's a mediocre coach, and Pitt could absolutely hire someone better than him if the job comes open. He took over the best program west of the Mississippi and finished fourth or worse in conference five times in 12 seasons.
If your idea of a good coach is a guy who does less with more then he is certainly your guy.
Xavier is absolutely an elite job too. That atmosphere was for UConn today was akin to our old atmospheres. They average 101 percent capacity and have an almost unlimited budget. Insanely good job.
As I said, freaking Chris Mack who somehow effed up Louisville won big there.
Mack was fine at Louisville.
Year 1: NCAAT
Year 2: Would have been a 2 seed in NCAAT but canceled
Year 3: 13-7, had multiple pauses due to Covid, didnt make NCAAT
Year 4: fired halfway thru
He's a good coach and would be on my list if we were hiring. Seems like a huge dickhead though.
My brother was a HS coach in NJ and went out to dinner with him and was with him during an NBA draft when he was at Wagner. He said he was very arrogant but he knew his shit.. Bobby was the complete opposite in personality. Very quiet and reserved.

When I was watching that game and saw a technical I knew game over. Hurley just cannot help himself and it cost them and will cost them again in the future.
No one said he's a 1 or 2. 7 is reasonable. I'd hope we'd do better than that. Fwiw Lloyd is 46-5 at Arizona so far. They were better under Lute than Sean too. Sean is a decent grinder but underperformed at Arizona, especially with no NCAA four years in a row at the 2nd or 3rd best program in the west. Doing a good job at Xavier though, I think he's a good fit there.
I would say almost everyone on this board thinks he is a below average coach, at least.
Seriously, I always said he underperformed at Arizona to the extent he wasn't worth a risk if you were going for a risky hire (as opposed to a Pitino, the rare "sure thing") -- NOT that he was a below average coach.
Hold up, you guys all think he's an above average coach when almost all of you would have preferred we hired any random mid-major lottery ticket? WTF
I feel somewhat better about him due to lack of a show cause and the now the success at Xavier so far. But at the time, the Pitt legal team apparently advised Heather against hiring him. I know you don't care about PR or NCAA rules and so on, but the administration cares at least somewhat about such things. And yes I think sometimes it's worth the risk to get better than "somewhat above average coach."
So who are the people who rated him something like 1-2, SMF? Names?

He claims to not know how to use it yet used it last week to bring up a thread to point out how many wins i thought we’d have or something. Can’t remember. Although the dummy brought back a thread where he said Hugley would potentially be worth 2 million dollars when there isn’t a player in CBB getting that and then of course spun that.
I know how to use it but its impossible to search for it since my username is Sean Miller Fan and there are too many threads with those words. We all know you said Miller was one of the worst coaches in the country. There's no doubt about that.
I said he was gifted elite jobs and would be awful at Pitt. Too irrefutable facts since he 1) won’t take Pitt because he’s never been at a job that didn’t have more resources 2) has underachieved with better players and more resources
The only guy who couldn’t win at Xavier ever was Travis Steele which seems impossible considering he has a 300 million dollar NIL father N Law to utilize. Elite job.

Yeah. I don't think there's anything wild or outrageous. He's a good coach but he absolutely underperformed at Zona based on the regular lottery pick talent he had. He'd likely be a poor coach without a huge talent advantage.
