Lewis, Maddox and Idowu are the worst excuse for DB's I've ever seen at Pitt. All three need to be benched and replaced by ANYBODY!! They can't cover and they tackle just as bad. Lewis had a chance to just bump the receiver out of bounds well short of the sticks. Nope, he somehow screwed that up. Idowu is looking into the backfield as Switzer makes a 4th down and 10 catch and he also should have had a sack but screwed that up. Maddox should just quit football. His best play was pass interference in the end zone. Who recruited these guys??

If the wideout from PSU doesn't drop a sure TD with a minute left, we would be 1-3 with a victory over Villanova. Defense is reminiscent of the dark days of the 90's. You can't tell me there isn't someone on that roster better than the zeroes in that secondary.

Oh and don't get me started on the senior quarterback who can't or won't stay in the pocket for more than 1 second when he hears any pressure coming, and can't throw the ball downfield 5 yards.

That "sure TD" vs PSU was an overthrown pass barely touching the tips of the receivers fingers... I know it's been part of their folklore that they almost won there but that description is just plain wrong

Lewis a 5th year senior who never really played a meaningful down of Pitt football until this year. Dizzy there is a reason the kid did not play--he stinks. The midget Maddox continually gets beat and misses tackles week after week and yet he continues to play. I don't give damn if the next guy up had a poor Spring or Fall camp performance--give them a shot. Maddox and Lewis are a joke. They literally play soft coverage--usually 15 yards off the ball and still get beat.

Every guy we play in our secondary is simply a special teams quality player - that's it- not a one should ever see the field on a snap from center

I'm not sure what options Narduzzi has at this point. Hamlin is injured, and there's really no other players to tap into. Watching the WRs from UNC have a free release at the LOS and literally giving the QB at least 3 options to choone from was painful to watch.

As good as the DL has been, the secondary as been at least as bad. even the parents of some of the DL expressed their frustrations yesterday.

As bad as the secondary is, and it is just bad, I see a lot of teams playing freshmen QB's. I now it sounds so simple but handing off seems pretty vanilla. If your QB can't throw at least a12-15 yard pass (like truly down field) he should sit. Peterson can't do that so what does he bring? Just ONE first down the last two weeks and the outcome most likely would have been different.

When Hamlin is healthy, play him. If it's 4 games I might even consider burning a redshirt. If he has one pass breakup this season, he's the best DB we have by a country mile. Seriously... does anyone on this team actually have a pass deflected yet?
