My family has been invited to watch the Penn State game in a suite, so I won't be using my Section 136 tickets. The asking prices on Stubhub are over $400. Have any of you sold tickets and, if so, what types of prices did you get? We have friends willing to buy them, and I'd like to get an idea of a fair price.

Pitt fans - $250 for the pair
PS fans - $2,500 for the pair

Well, if Stubhub is listing them for $400 each, that means those people would pay $880 for a pair and you could make $680. Charge them $680 or less, if they are good friends.

I charged a friend $150 a seat (my 2 extras) in the lower bowl...basically covered the ticket price for the year for those two seats and I get to go to/give the rest of the season to clients...good deal for me and fair price to friend...

It depends on how good if friends they are. You can easily get $400 per. So that's $720 after commissions. The economist's way of looking at it is you have a value of $720. If you sell them to friends for $500, you lost $220. Maybe that's worth it, maybe not.

Anybody paying $400 to watch 1 Pitt football game has to be suffering from severe brain trauma. I wouldn't go over $100 a ticket and it better be a damn good game.

The face price for a ticket not purchased through a season package is $95, so apparently tens of thousands of people must disagree on your valuation for a Pitt game versus the Nits. Hail to Pitt!

Sold mine to a fellow Pantherlair member for $250 each. Sec. 110 (50 yd line behind the visitors bench).

You certainly can get more, but 250 seemed fair to me.

Guess you won't be at the game then.

That's the question! :) We're not looking to make a killing, but we're also not going to give them away. Honestly, I'm trying to gauge the market.

you can log into stubhub, click sell and enter your ticket information. Then on the pricing screen you can click to see the sold listings and their exact location.

No chance. I'll watch from home and root for Pitt, but not interested in being around that many PSU fans.

I think whoever is paying over $100 a ticket for a Pitt/PSU ticket is an idiot. I don't see them as a rival, we haven't played in 16 yeard and don't have the same perspective about the game as do men over the age of 40. They are no different than Iowa, OK St or any other non-conf team TO ME. Have fun I guess. I think WVU is a MUCH bigger rival and even they are dieing off to me.

So you're being given free tickets to a suite and seeking advice on how much to gouge a friend for the tickets you no longer need? With friends like you....

What would an internet message board be without an unnecessary personal attack? Thanks for jumping in the void.

I had three season tickets in the upper level. I sold the whole season to my cousin for what we paid, which included my wife's faculty discount. So, there's that.

As for the remaining tickets, the people interested are more acquaintances than friends, and Penn State fans, so I have no intention of giving them away for free. If charging a fair, below resale price is gouging, so be it.

Sheesh.

I bet you can find Pitt fans that will pay you as much as the nitter acquaintances.

No way! I would rather beat PSUcks much more than wvu. Everyone who says the rivalry is dead is lying to themselves.
Looks at message boards and especially tell me the rivalry is dead. If that was the case you would be able to go to the game for $25.

If they are your friends, then a "fair price" would be what you paid for them.
