Bleachers in 20 degrees sounds like frostbite on your anus to me
Which is why numbers will be less than against a September cupcake. But they aren't going to be as bad as some people think. It will something north of 85,000, and that's still a lot of people.Bleachers in 20 degrees sounds like frostbite on your anus to me
PSU tix will be $10 by game time. Still a lot left. Totally shocked OSU is so cheap.
I think this exercise has really shown the difference between NFL and college fans. The notion that PSU and OSU will have possibly their cheapest tickets of the year for a playoff game is something I never would have believed. PSU/Nevada in August is a tougher ticket. And why? Because the weather is nice and you get to post a picture of you tailgating on IG. #107K strong. Its just a party.
Columbus is the biggest city in Ohio so there’s plenty of fans right there but fanbase is spoiled and really down on Day.Not going to lie. If I were a PSU or tOSU fan, there is no way in hell I would go sit out in 30 degree weather for a first round playoff game.
There are only 2 possible outcomes. The first one is a loss. And who the hell enjoys freezing their ass off to see their team lose? The second is they win and advance to either Scottsdale or Pasadena. I would see if my team could get the dub from my 72 degree living room and then catch up in a more desirable location for the next game. ...Or just wait and hopefully catch up in Atlanta.
Glad most fans don't have my attitude towards cold weather.

I'm shocked by all three of the games that are under 100 bucks.
Penn State - I get the students are gone and SMU has no fans, but they haven't played for a natty in forever.
Ohio State/Tennessee - I mean, OSU has done this plenty of times recently, but they're still a strong fan base, and I'd think Tennessee would bring a huge contingent.
Texas/Clemson - Kind of a combination of the first two; Texas hasn't played for a natty in a long time and both fan bases are solid.

Agree 101K announced. Way more than 71K.70K. Will look completely packed. 101K announced
the real exercise will be comparing the Steeler TV ratings to the CFP. Curious to see that.
Right, and it's centrally located to boot. Basically 2 hours or less from all the major population centers in the state.Columbus is the biggest city in Ohio so there’s plenty of fans right there but fanbase is spoiled and really down on Day.

Ultimately who cares?
For the record, Mueller is an idiot. If you've ever met that tool in the flesh, you know that to be true. He's playing to the audience here.A lot of people care. Attendance is PSU fans' 2nd favorite sport. As Chris Mueller said, if they csnt sell out their first CFP game, they no longer have the right to brag about attendance ever again. They are done. This is one of the biggest games in school history but since its a little chilly, its going to be 30% empty.
40-60 minutes away hotels are normal prices.I still suspect the $1000+ for hotels/lodging is the real killer.
I saw someone say that parking passes alone are $100+? That can’t be right, can it?
This is 100% correct. Plus, there was a snafu and many regular PSU fans didn’t get the email in time to secure parking.I saw someone say that parking passes alone are $100+? That can’t be right, can it?

First round of a 12 team playoff is still a long way from a Natty.
Even in the 11 game BCS era, a really good program would easily win 7 or 8 games. 3 or 4 were circled for the chance to play for a Natty. The postseason basically resets that number.
Same number of games an NFL wildcard team would have to win. Plus round 2 might as well be a bye. And this is the only home game.
I think there will be a whole different vibe if they are one of the Final Four teams standing
The weekend before Christmas is just a bad time for a game in freezing weather.

It's honestly not that cold out. I was out there with my dogs in shorts and a thin shirt for about an hour and 15 minutes this morning. It's not windy, and the sun is out. No excuses for them.
$14 now on Stubhub
The seat map on Ticketmaster for the regular official CFP tickets show thousands of empty seats. Probably will indeed be 70K. 101K announced.
Yup….That’s the important thing! Those attendance!Stadium looks pretty full
I liked Jenning's decision to throw it on 4th down, even though he easily had the 1st if he ran. I just didn't like the errant throw. That should have been an easy TD.SMU outplaying PSU thusfar

He threw it behind him. ...And now another piss poor throw.Yep
It was really just a drop … PSU didn’t really do anything to stop it. (Despite the tv crews remarks)
A very lazy throw. He just tossed it upHe threw it behind him. ...And now another piss poor throw.
