September kicks

I am guessing you did not look at the national schedule that day. If you did, you would see that Clemson-Texas A & M, along with UCLA (with Chip Kelly)-Oklahoma are scheduled as well

The last time slot Pitt will be playing in is 8PM
You also have USC Stanford which should be a big game. I bet the Pitt Penn State game ends up as a noon game on ABC.

Insane. Should be 8pm Pitt-PSU

Clemson @ Texas A&M will probably be 3:30 CBS SEC GOTW.

UCLA/OU sounds like FOX primetime

I mean I agree that Pitt/PSU get noon but what Im saying is to tell ESPN they can put it at whatever time they want. If they want it at 3:30, so be it. Remember we had a noon game and the Pirates had a 4PM game and everyone survived. We can play at 3:30, Pirates at 7:30

The Pirates dumping McCutchen and going back to the Glory days of the McClatchy era made me think of our September kick times since we have to work around Nutting.

September 1: Pirates @ Braves. I would say our game vs Albany should start at 6:00 PM, breaking the string of about 18 noon home starts in a row and giving us our first Saturday night game since 1987.

September 8: Pirates vs Marlins at 7:05. Pitt/PSU will kick at noon

September 15: Pirates @ Brewers. This will be our ACC opener. Hopefully a home game that doesn't start at noon

September 22: Pirates vs Brewers 7:05. Hopefully we are on the road in an ACC game this day.

September 29: @ UCF. 7:30 on CBSSN, I'm sure. Or maybe Friday night on ESPN. Guaranteed prime time, sold-out, crowd all hyped up game

What about working around the Pirates playoff games in October, do you have a plan yet? Getting rid of Cutch and Cole will give the Buccos the flexibility to compete for the pennant. :)

You are preaching to the choir. No one screams more about noon home games than me. I hate the sun. I’m serious, I hate it.

Me too! Especially in the winter. Nothing I hate more than 20 degrees with bright sunshine, and on football game days, what I would choose, would be overcast, 50-60 but no rain, that's the best, sweatshirt weather, comfortable.

dude, you and I think alike. I love low 60s, overcast as hell but no rain. LOVE THAT WEATHER> sunny and cold is miserable, my biggest pet peeve about Denver. you go to Denver, the sun is 20' above your head but you have a foot of snow.. i wear sunglasses in snow, its so annoying i want to punch myself in the face. One or the other Denver, pick one, you cant do both..

The lots are leased, even if they’re empty from pirate game, we won’t have access to them. They’ll just be empty.

60,000 fans will be parking on the streets in the northside and on Carson Street and take in the boat across, that’s not ideal

The Pirates don't have a lot of pre-sold parking, maybe 1 lot.

Look at it this way, is the attendant going to ask to see your Pirate ticket before he takes your $20 bill?

ALCO is going to sell every space they can. For example, the red 5 garage is all presold for Pitt games, but when they play scrub teams at noon they open it up and let people pay $20 to park. They know even the presold people won't show up.

red 5 is lease, Gold 4 is lease, im not sure about Gold 2, if that's lease or pay parking. They have more than one lot.. Id be shocked if red 7C (by the T stop) isn't lease for bucco games.

EDIT: My bad Gunga, you are right. PIrate parking:

  • Red Lot 6 – $25
  • Gold Lot 4 (Limited handicap parking located here) – $20
  • Red Lot 5 – Presold
  • Blue 10 – North Shore Garage – $15
  • Red 5 – West General Robinson St. Garage – $15
  • Gold Lot 1 – $15
  • Gold Lot 2 – $15 – NO TAILGATING
  • Warhol Lot – $15
  • Red Lot 7A-7D – $15
  • Blue Lot 7F-7J – $15
  • Red Clark East Lot – $15

Regardless, the attendance at the Pirate game would minimal if Pitt/PSU was at the same time. Nutting would move it because he would be losing money.

I'll write the press release for Heather. She'll come across looking great and Nutting the bozo that he is.

I don't know if it's still this way or not, but several years ago we took my dad to a game and wanted to park close because he wasn't getting around so well. We ended up in Gold 4 (I think, the one right across the street from the stadium) and at that time it was both pre sold parking and some number of spaces for day of game parking. I don't know what the split was and I don't know if they still do it that way, but there could be lots that are a mixture of the two.

Pitt tried that once, remember?
Back in 2006. The Michigan State game was supposed to be a 330pm ABC kickoff. It also conflicted with a nighttime Pirates game. Guess who had to move?

They have us Sep 15 vs GT when the Pirates are away and Sep 22 @ UNC when they are home. That worked out. Though, I'm sure GT @ Pitt will still be the 12:30 Raycom GOTW.
