is there any player from this year's squad that you want to see return next year? Anyone?
As I reflect back on the team's 12-2 beginning and now 4-12 finish (almost), I can't say there is any one player that I would regret losing to the transfer portal; even Lowe. And this is in no way a knock on them as a good or decent person and/or a sometimes good or decent basketball player
If I did have to rank a couple that I would like to see come back (providing, there is a much-improved front court) it's Beebah and Amsal. The Kante project has clearly not worked out (this year, anyway), and I think he'd be a better fit at the mid-major level. The twins have not taken even the slightest "great leap forward", and since they will probably want to go as a "package", maybe there is a mid-major program they could land at; Corhen needs to find another spot for his last year of eligibility; and Jaland will likely find an offer to play for UM or get some outrageous coin from another team that could use him in a supporting role. IMO, Jaland is not a floor "leader" despite his, at times, ridiculous ability
Is Dunn done? Has he used up the last of his eligibility? Ditto with Austin? I am pretty certain that Leggett is in his final collegiate season, unless the NCAA finds a way to continue letting players compete at the "college" level despite being in their early to mid-20's and having no further interest in going to class
It will be quite interesting to see how this all plays out once the portal is open, the tournament is over, Capel meets with Greene and Gabel, and the decision on the university's part to either pay or not pay top dollar for better talent, going forward. Fasten your seat belts and this might be a bumpy ride
