Yeah I think it’s fair to speculate that Dixon would have gotten something out of him while also acknowledging he was a poor fit for what Stallings wants.

For as much as people are bagging on Carr for not being a true PG, his assist rate is tremendous (and, since it’s a rate, it isn’t minutes-dependent) and twice that of Justice Kithcart’s.

Well if we are speculating, I doubt Dixon would have given Kithcart much more minutes if he wanted to win games.
He simply wasn't ready.

With respect to this year it doesn't matter. Kithcart ran himself off the team.

Yeah, meant I think Dixon could get something out of him long term.

Last year and under Stallings, though? I do agree with the dismal characterization.

And yeah there’s no chance Dixon would have given him a lot of minutes last year. Not with his tendency to yank guys after a mistake (which I’m not saying as a criticism, always thought that was a nit picky complaint).

I think though that dixonwould have split him and Milligan at the point, and not used artis. No one can convince me that simply losing James Robinson should have caused the team to lose that many more games.

I honestly don’t know what Dixon would have done. Hell, with how things were sounding, maybe in an alternate universe Crisshawn Clark doesn’t get hurt and he becomes the primary ball handler with Artis being the Wanamaker/Patterson off-ball playmaker.

There was an extremely steep drop off after Young, Artis, Jeter, Jones, Luther, Johnson and none of the PG candidates looked anywhere close to ready to contribute. With how Dixon always talked about maximizing minutes for his best 5, I don’t think he would’ve tried to force things with them.

And I think there was a lot that went into the record changing, honestly. With how thin they were, they probably don’t lose against Duquesne if Artis doesn’t get suspended. They probably win another game or two if Luther stays healthy.

At that point you’re looking at losing 2-3 games because of losing Robinson and not having a replacement, which seems reasonable.
