Should Pitt play Amadasun some

I am sure he is far from ready to play, but if Pitt keeps getting Coulibay and Brown in foul trouble it will cause them to lose the game. I thought one of the keys to the WF game was Coulibay reaching around and getting his third foul. Brown just got ate up, but he is still more advanced then a raw Amadasun. Collier is just not designed for center. A key to the WF game was their center being able to create more room for their shooters because it was going hard to the basket and drawing fouls. Before Gary McGhee played well the last 2 years at least he could buy a few minutes. If Coulibay and Brown get in foul trouble early tonight NC will run rampant in the post.

Just my thought but if Amadasun hasn’t been good enough to warrant playing time yet they shouldn’t trial by fire against UNC.

Mych rather go small and make their bigs defend the perimeter.

Brown as a senior is still absolutely lost and worthless on defense

I kind of feel bad for him. My friend put it best. He said he thinks Brown only plays basketball because someone told him since he's 6'10, he should play. Seems like a good kid but he has to be the least skilled player we've ever had that had played major minutes.

Brown lost confidence, before this year he played a lot more, he actually had some good games over the years, he's near the top in career shot blocking for Pitt, now this year he's dropped to 3rd or 4th in the rotation, he's probably worried the tiniest mistake and he'll be pulled.

There’s no denying his shot blocking ability. But otherwise he has no business playing at this level as much as he does. He doesn’t have the ability and it appears that he doesn’t have the motor/drive either.

It wouldnt have been any worse. Brown couldnt go up strong and score on good assists under the basket and on defense UNC simply out muscled him on rebounds and shots in the paint.

His sole objective to block shots is why he sucks so bad on defense -
He’s out of position often , doesn’t box out - and leaves essentially 2 against 1 in the post perpetually .

Frankly Nasir Robinson would eat his lunch despite being 5 inches shorter at least

There was a play in the 2nd half that defined Brown last night. UNC missed a shot, Brown had position on his man for the rebound but had a half hearted and late reaction and the UNC big behind him just reached over him and snatched the ball. A 6'10" big should never let that happen without at least drawing a foul.

He looks like he eats an edible before games. Looks like he’d rather be taking a nap than playing
Lol! Its funny you say that. Sleepy was the nickname for our last coach. However, when my brother and I talk Pitt hoops we call Terrell Brown Sleepy. We have been calling him that since he was a frosh. We were talking while watching the game one night and TB was at the line and my brother said, the ref better give him the ball now because I think he is gonna fall asleep at the line. Been calling him that ever since.

Max is a lottery ticket that has little chance to ever play real minutes here. He is similar to another lowly ranked NYC Big, Austin Wallace. As I say, there are so few good Bigs out there, you have to take on these lottery tickets and maybe you hit on 1 but its rare.

RE: Austin actually had some skills. Louisville was also interested in taking him. He just needed a few years to develop. But Austin's leg injury was essentially career ending. He played in one the summer games in Greentree during what would have been his senior year. He still wore a brace on his leg, and could only play in short spurts. But you could see that he could actually play. He reminded me more of Chris Seabrooks in that regard.

He is also one very friendly and very funny guy.

I watched him in Green Tree and in those Blue Gold games and he always appeared to me to be an NEC-level player even before the injury. I did enjoy his role as "hype man" during pregame introductions and on the bench

Not related to Amadasun but a comment on our bigs in the UNC game.

Either my recollection isn’t correct or I’m surprised no one mentioned this after the game. Wasn’t there at least one lengthy stretch where we had both AKC and Brown on the court at the same time. I can understand that to combat all the UNC bigs but, nonetheless, isn’t that the first time we’ve seen that in a game?

He was much better than NEC for sure, but we will never know if he could have turned into a Big East level player.

But Austin was certainly more skilled than Max at the same stages in career. I believe Max is a little bigger (more broad) and that's where much of his potential lies.

Yes -- it was about a two minute stretch, and we have done that at least once prior this year for about a minute.

This team desperately needs help inside. Max is already 20 years old, so it isn’t like he is a young Fr. We absolutely need to recruit over him. He isn’t going to help this year and doesn’t show much upside.

Max is certainly not viewed and wasn't recruited as a Center of the Future. He was a lottery ticket. The staff will continue to try to land talented 5's. Hopefully Hugley is back as well. My prediction is that he will be. Clearly he's going to play D1 basketball again so it might as well be at Pitt. A half-season (or 1 year going to Dec 2021) is punishment enough
