Should the ACC just go ahead and add UConn?

I think the Big 12 should just grab up Washington State and Oregon State then reach out to the ACC about a merger between the two conferences.

BC and maybe Cuse might not like the competition if UCONN had a respectable football team in recruiting the northeastern region.

I think the Big 12 will be proactive here and grab UCONN.

Why wouldnt you?

They have already discussed it publicly. They add anybody so why not?

Pitt is going to be in basically the old Big East again anyway so why not just add UConn now and maybe get $2 million/year in their forfeited TV revenue.

Pitt's future league will either be called the ACC or Big 12 but will be the Old Big East + Friends

Pitt
WVU

Because it doesn't make any sense monetarily for either party.

Which is, of course, the exact same reason why they aren't coming to the ACC.

Could that change some day? Yeah, absolutely. At some point someone might be desperate enough for it to make sense to invite them. But not today. And not until the next upheaval occurs.

The basketball program brings a lot of value and it seems like UConn is going to get added eventually once FSU, Clemson, and others leave. Wouldn't it make sense to just add them now and maybe give them no football revenue for X amount of years (so more money for the FSU crybabies) but cut them in on an Notre Dame Basketball-like revenue distribution deal. So, like ND, they get bball revenue only for a good while.
Better question is whether the Big East should add Pitt, and perhaps BC, Syracuse, and maybe WVU.

Fairfield county Connecticut (contains 35% of the population of the state of Connecticut) and is in the New York City TV marketplace (largest in the US).

This was the reason the B1G decided to bring in Rutgers.

Have no problem with Connecticut coming to the ACC Conference with Oregon State and Washington State if FSU and Clemson leave.

New football powers will emerge in the ACC to fill that vacuum (2 teams to play in the National Championship Series). I wonder how many times FSU or Clemson will be selected as a member playing in the SEC or B1G.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

Actually, the ACC needs a Western Pod like the B1G.

ACC: Standford, Cal, Washington State, Oregon State
B1G: USC, UCLA, Washington, Oregon

Makes sense.

I wounder if preliminary discussions are underway especially with respect to the FSU/Clemson situation.

Washington State is a no way, never. Maybe Oregon St because its reasonably close to Portland but there are many, many programs that the ACC should add before Washington State:

Colorado State
UNLV
Boise State
Utah State
San Diego Stage
Fresno State
Temple
Memphis
USF

B1G bought the serious players. The guys in NC are playing golf.

Before I watch this, can someone confirm this guy's "source with knowledge of the ESPN TV deal" is someone other than Greg Swaim? Every freaking time I see a headline about some breaking news on the ACC collapse, its some fan blog site citing Greg Swaim.

Looking at the picture, I'm pretty sure the source is Montgomery Burns.

Or at least someone who knows as much about the subject as him.

Seriously, every time I see a headline that reads "ACC breakup imminent" from a legit fan blog site, I click on it and it'll say something like "According to longtime college football radio host, Greg Swaim, the ACC will be losing 3 teams within the next month." Its ALWAYS Greg Swaim and for those that dont know, he is a Baylor fanboy who rose to prominence alongside "The Dude." Also, when I say legit fan blog sites, I mean sites similar to the Pantherlair. Not to discount Pantherlair because I think the articles on this site are "real" but sites like it report on what Greg Swaim says.

I found the source for this stuff. And you cant even make this stuff up. Its a student at Baylor. He has all the information on the ACC's breakup.

What is simply incredible to me is how the Big 12 has this endless supply of fake news fanboys who have podcasts or twitter accounts and spread propoganda 24/7. How? Why cant NC State or Georgia Tech have a guy like this? And sometimes this fake news gets picked up by reputable outlets.
