SIAP. ...Zeise moved to linebacker today

I don't mind the move, but I don't like that they waited this long. He's been on the team for 3 years now and only has 2 years left to play. I was kind of surprised he wasn't moved to safety after his freshman year when we were kind of hurting for play-makers there.

We do have a gaping hole at outside linebacker and he does seem to be a smart and hard-working player. I guess he can add some weight over the summer. I wish him the best.

Go Pitt.

He's a RS soph, plenty of time to make an impact

Always thought the only reason he was offered was to shut up (or try to shut up) his dads pedo-state-pro mouth. I could be wrong, but he had more drops than catches at wr, why put him in position to drop a defensive turnover. He is only on the team for political reasons. Should be the next scolly to be dropped.

I've never gotten the impression that PZ is pro-PSU at all, and I listen to his show pretty regularly. Was he really pro-PSU before his son came to Pitt? I find it somewhat hard to believe, given that he is the PG's Pitt basketball writer (and a very good one at that).

Now that's a dumbass post.

Are you the same guy that posted before last season that Rori Blair was just a feelgood recruit that the coaches gave a schollie to out of pity?

Always thought people who don't know what they are talking about should not talk period. He has the size and will get bigger. He couldn't ask for better coaches to help in this transition.

He was a tweener and borderline prospect from the get go. Hopefully he can contribute some at LB. I think it speaks to our WR "talent" being largely suspect more than it does them being so good he was moved. Some people on here were even listing him as a potential impact player at WR this year.

This is the way smart coaches leverage their talent just like the business world does!
Super smart!
Way to go HC Narduzzi!

We obviously have a problem at outside LB - the guys we have coming back lack any size or experience except for Bam and Caprara. EZ is already bigger than the rest of the candidates -- i.e., Brightwell, McKee, Idowu, etc.

Coach Duzz's explanation makes sense to me. He said that freshmen WRs coming in can play sooner than freshmen LBs coming in. There's just too much for the freshmen LBs to learn in a short period of time. So getting EZ the work during spring ball, over the summer, then in fall camp, gives them a better chance to have him ready to go in the early games versus Pugh or Pine.

So I think they know they have problems at both positions, but Ford, Tipton, Henderson, Challingsworth, Jaquan Davidson, and Araujo-Lopes, plus the enigmatic Jester Weah :), plus the 3 incoming freshmen WRs, still give them lots of good athletes at WR.

Go Pitt.

I'm more worried about our backer situation than our wr situation. And I'm pretty worried about our wr siruation

Zeise was rated the No. 10 overall prospect in Pennsylvania by 247Sports, No. 19 by Scout and No. 21 by Rivals...rated one of the nation's top 40 "athletes" by 247Sports. That's not exactly a 'politics'-based roster spot.... and I don't recall more than 1 drop in the few opportunities he received last season.

Did Zeise steal your kid's roster spot back in his Pop Warner years or something? This seems like quite an odd, baseless attack.

Not a huge Paul zeise fan but he is far FAR from a pro psu guy. When temple beat the tickle monsters last year he openly gloated on radio (temple Alum), he is pretty critical of pitt too. He calls it like he sees it, for good or bad

I am far from an optimist but even if have to call out the detractors on this move EZ is a good athlete, this is a good move. Time will tell if he can be a productive starter but we've seen moves based on desperation and this is not one I think worst case, he is a backup role player that helps out on special teams...and that is worst case
