Six Penn State, Pitt and West Virginia players were named Tuesday to watch lists for the Maxwell Award and Bednarik Award, given annually to the national player of the year and defensive player of the year.
Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg and wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton and Pitt wide receiver Tyler Boyd and running back James Conner were nominated for the Maxwell.
Penn State defensive tackle Anthony Zettel and West Virginia safety Karl Joseph were nominated for the Bednarik
