So...Thoughts on First commit?

Back to back Junior days. Saw some positive remarks from some of the recruits. Anybody think we will get an early commit and by who(m)?

I wasn't going for sarcasm....truly asking for those in the know who and when we will get one based on the positive feedback from the Junior days.

Seems pretty clear by now we're not going to make many big early splashes. A big early one like Ford likely is an anomaly we won't see often.

We're going to seek the less heralded guys our coaches think will rise after their senior years, get in good with em now and hopefully they'll come to camps and enjoy the experience and reward us even if big programs belatedly sweep in. Meanwhile hang on the fringe with some other quality guys that might be waiting (hopefully in vain) for the bigger glamour offers, meaning it could be 11th hour commits for them. Isn't going to be a ton of off-season bragging rights unfortunately. Then again what did that get us before...

Our first commit will be one of the QB's. This year will be the first year in a long time that we will - voluntarily - only take one QB. Several of the brand name programs have already got their QB committments and with the ACC now credibly making the claim to be be one of the top conferences [with Pitt in the hunt for the Coastal crown], the QB's know that the first one on the draw will get the prize. This ain't your older sibling's Pitt recruiting team. For the QB's, snooze you lose!

Early commits are more often than not a little "soft". Parsons has been committed to Jimmy for over a year and he's tweeting "Go Dawgs" at UGA. Might not mean much but we have a "this class is in trouble" moment every spring on this board and it's never worth the keystrokes.

Pugh would probably kick the shit out of him. Those two are close. Raines will be a Panther.

IMO, Raines won't drag this out for too long.

Parsons is as good as gone. PSU fans were all pissed when he released a top 5 after being "committed" to them. They know he's gone.

Parsons will flip to Ohio State after Urban gets his revenge on Jimmy in Colmubus this fall.

I'm not sure that Parsons flips. Nobody knows what a recruit will do. Especially one that highly coveted. It just looks tenuous, at best, this far out.

Yeah I was mostly kidding. I have zero clue what will happen and, since he's not going to Pitt, I don't really care too much where he goes.
