The whole state is without a doubt OSU.I'll stick with my anecdotal evidence over yours.

Let me help. There were not 400K people at the Pens parade. There were not 1.3 million people at the Cavs parade. There are about 2 million people in Western PA and there is no way 1 out of 5 people attended a Wednesday afternoon parade. I cant believe people actually believe that number especially since its somebody's estimation as nobody counted all 400K.
The Cavs' fans are front runners. The Pens fans are frontrunners. Most all fans are frontrunners and bandwagon jumpers. Remember before Lemieux? Remember between Jagr and Crosby?
Cleveland is better than Pittsburgh for the simple reason that they value a true American sport like basketball over a niche foreign sport like hockey that nobody cares about in the US except like 5 or 6 cities.
Yes, because no one from Eastern OH, WV or places like Johnstown went to the Pens parade. It is amazing how Penguin/hockey haters try and diminish their accomplishments.
I agree. Sure, it's fun to rip on Cleveland, but it has its good points - just like most American cities.Sorry but the area around The Cavs arena and Indians Field far blows away the North Shore or Consol experience. Not even close. Great places to catch games, great bar and restaurant scene. Nice people.
I love Cleveland as long as you know where to go.
This is America. You're free to be as wrong as you want to be.I'll stick with my anecdotal evidence over yours.
This is America. You're free to be as wrong as you want to be.
While you're at it, you are also free to insist that nobody in the metro Detroit area cares about Michigan football, nobody in greater Atlanta cares about UGA football, nobody in Milwaukee cares about UW football, nobody in New Orleans cares about LSU football, etc.
How much better do i need to do? How about this:That's really the best you can do after thinking about it all day?
Don't laugh at the Cavs fans. What do you think would have happened in the Burgh if one of the Steeler or Pens heros did the same thing ? It would not go over well here with the minute discussions of each and every aspect of our teams that goes on.Actually, Cleveland struggles terribly with their sports identity. The Browns are a joke and they know it. Sadly, they got shafted when Baltimore convinced the team to move and got left with a mess while "The Ravens" won championships. The Indians had a nice little resurgence that didn't amount to much and most people relate to Charlie Sheen as a closer for the Indians, than they do the real team.
The Cavs fans make me laugh the most. They're the same clowns that burned LeBron James shirts when he left for Miami and now have suddenly embraced him as the city's favorite son.
So far as I know, nobody I've ever met in or from Cleveland identify with Ohio State. Maybe that's changed some but it's not like they have much else going for them.
How much better do i need to do? How about this:
THE OSU Alumni Club of Greater Cleveland - the 2nd largest group of OSU Alumni in the world next to Columbus....join our club today!
Who We Are
We are the Ohio State Alumni Club of Greater Cleveland. Our goals are to further the university’s interest in Greater Cleveland and to build and renew friendships among Ohio State alumni and friends in the area.
Outside of Greater Columbus, more alumni and students live here than anywhere else in the world. Thus, the Ohio State Alumni Club of Greater Cleveland serves as an important bridge between Cleveland and the university.
Or this:
CLEVELAND- Urban Meyer, Cardale Jones and The Ohio State Buckeyes were honored during Monday night’s Cavs game at Quicken Loans Arena. There was a roaring standing ovation for the team that won the National Championship last Monday night. Jones, who is from Cleveland, spoke to the thousands of fans and tweeted a photo of himself at the game.
OSU is the #1 team in the entire state but Michigan has a lot of fans on Ohio's North Coast and Cincy has a lot of UK and ND fans.
OSU and Nebraska were the only 2 teams to "win" every zip code in their own state in that Facebook Fan Map thing but you can easily see there are far less OSU fans in Cincy than in Cleveland.
Agreed - if the Browns, Cavs, and Indians won a bunch of championships over the past 40 years, then Cleveland people would not feel as much of a need to latch onto OSU's success. If Cleveland had the professional success of Pittsburgh, one would think the big following of the Bucknuts would not be nearly as large. OSU is not connected to Cleveland as much as the nits are not connected to Pittsburgh. Despite the thinking that PSU is the state university, it isn't in following. Philly is indifferent to the nits quite frankly and has Temple as a local as well.,
Disagree. People latch onto a winner, period. The state of Ohio has always been football crazy, OSU football is an institution in Ohio with a great winning tradition, tons of legendary players and coaches, many from the Cleveland area. There is plenty of room in every fan's heart for multiple winners.Agreed - if the Browns, Cavs, and Indians won a bunch of championships over the past 40 years, then Cleveland people would not feel as much of a need to latch onto OSU's success.
Absolutely 100% Ohio StateSo far as I know, nobody I've ever met in or from Cleveland identify with Ohio State.
You must not have met many people in or from Cleveland. It's an OSU town to the core.
