Once again we see the pac 12 is over paid as is the b12 and the ACC is way undervalued. There is definitely a huge gap with the top two. ACC got into a horrible contract, they really need to pressure espn to improve the deal. I know the contract supposedly has lookins every 5 years. ACC needs espn to get them back into the middle of the pack where the tv ratings says they should be.

A lot of that had to do with timing as well.

and timezones.....more west coast folks watching big 10 and sec games at breakfast and lunch than east coast folks watching pac 12 games at midnight

Yep, that is absolutely true. That's also why those rankings will never change. The ACC will always outdraw every other conferences except the Big Ten and the SEC. That is not a bad place to be positioned.

Incidentally, that dynamic is also why the Big 12, when it expands, will expand to the east and not the west. BYU is not going to happen for a number of reasons but it's remote western location is chief among them.

Other than the revenue part, I could careless about the ACC football deal as I go to all the games. On the other hand, the ACC basketball deal is simply awful if you live outside of a television area occupied by a member school. The old Big East basketball deal was far better from a fan perspective of knowing the game was being carried, and getting access to it. Figuring out if the game was on [and not blacked out] and on which channel on DirecTV in Philadelphia has not been much fun! Hail to Pitt!
