Spring game.

Dang it. I really enjoyed when they had the game at highmark stadium. I wish they would keep doing it there. It was full, and the atmosphere was so great.

I was sick last year and didn't make it to Heinz, how was the attendance?

The attendance was not great I think in excess of 10K so it would have been SRO at Highmark. I loved the atmosphere at Highmark. I like the spring games just to get a look at the team. The fact that so few attend does not bother me.

I have mixed feelings on the spring game. first off, I go and have most years.. I think you have to take it with a grain of salt, more just getting out, seeing some live football action and leave it at that..

If you go into this trying to guage the team, to decipher some sort of preview of the upcoming fall, you're gonna leave disappointed. The staff wont show much, no real info to be taken out of it like formations, offensive previews, etc.. Very vanilla and some player will do great and you'll think he will be a breakout player in the fall and it never seems to work out that way..

I think I've learned my lesson in this. need to go, have a adult drink before, check out some live action on a hopefully nice spring day and leave it at that..

Ehh I just think all of the empty seats are a bad look. I would rather have it at the smaller facility where it is full and everyone is more engaged.

high school stadiums scream "small time." High mark isn't big enough, I don't even think it seats 4k.. if it held 8K+ then I'd be for it. it's actually too small, which is really saying something.

We agree to disagree. Either way, I'll see you there. H2P
yes, im with you. I actually love the idea of station square too so im not necessarily disagreeing with you. I love the location, just see the reason for it. Ironically enough, I've been to every damn spring game except the one at highmark 2 years ago, which turned out to be a beautiful day.

actually Spring games can be eye opening. My son and I attended the spring game at gateway back in 2005, wanny's first year where the line for the game extended out to the Parkway east. We are watching this back up qb Joe Flacco just really air it out. I had no idea who he was. I asked my son "is he that good or does our defense really suck." My son's response. "Our defense really sucks" . true pitt fan.

Highmark was OK and the atmosphere was really good. But the entire event seemed ridiculously congested from parking to the stands only being on one side. The game needs to be at Heinz.

i actually was listening to it on the radio. It was such a weird broadcast. it was basically a few people talking about pitt in general, and not paying any attention to the game. every once in awhile, they'd break into it with an update on a good play but most of the time, just a few guests talking. Very weird. it was like a pitt sports radio show, at a game, but them not watching the game.

They're going to have it at Heinz Field every year. Since it's the official stadium it's considered part of the campus in terms of recruiting rules, so they can have guys visit during the game. They were only able to bring recruits at Highmark in 2015 because Heinz was under renovation and they got approval from the NCAA to bring recruits there.

I wonder if it will be broadcast on Watch ESPN via the ACC Digital Network this year. I don't believe it was the last two years.

The Pirates won out. Having it April 15 is fine though. Not sure why Narduzzi was so gung-ho on the 22nd. If there was a good reason he wanted that date and the Pirates vetoed, that probably didn't make him very happy.

I also see Pitt is charging $5. I think that's a good idea. $5 may keep away 100 fans.....maybe and Pitt could use the $25,000.
