I think JWF is better than Toney at this point but I think it creates more talking points and a bit more buzz if we can say we start 3 freshmen.

By the same token, if I were Stallings, I would have started 5 freshmen after Luther got hurt.

I think it would have made it a little more difficult to justify firing him. All season long, every announcer would have beaten to death the fact Pitt was starting 5 freshmen. He would have made Heather look stupid (in the eyes of the "experts") for firing a coach who started 5 freshmen

FWIW, which is probably not a whole heck of a lot, but Pitt listed the probable starters on the game notes as the same five that started the last game.
