Stations for Pitt/NC State tomorrow

Here in the DC area WDCA, Channel 5 carries ACC games. They had Pitt-Louisville on. However, tomorrow they are showing Virginia-Clemson in the noon time slot.

That being the case, I should be able to watch it as an ACCN Extras broadcast streaming on ESPN+.

I see what you all have been saying about being ready for the ACCN to launch.

It's been like a scavenger hunt for the past few games.

Past few years you mean. Starting next year, all Pitt football and basketball games (except potentially road OOC games) will be one of the following networks for the next 15 years or so:

ESPN
ESPN2
ESPNU
ACCN
ACC Network Extra
ABC (football)
CBC (basketball)

Thats it. Thats the list. No more COZI, thisTV, Raycom, AT&T SportsNet, or KBL.

790 on DirecTV if you have their Sports Pack
It will be blacked out again both on Directv and streaming on ESPN in Central PA, because it is carried by Comcast only on channel 14 out of State College. This is no doubt a Nitter conspiracy. As much as I loved Hilgrove growing up, there is no way I can endure having to listen to that broadcast again. Wednesday night was brutal, and at times I just turned it off and watched the stats on gamecast. I'm coming into work on Saturday to watch the game on cable.

Its not on "cable." Its free "over-the-air." If you have one of those digital antennas, you can watch it at home.

Honestly, for the past few years I haven't cared to watch Pitt bball games with Stallings at the helm.

Also, not so much in the Dixon latter yrs either. The excitement and interest just wasn't there as in previous yrs.

Comcast is a pain in my butt since Direct TV and Comcast haven't come to an agreement.
I like Direct TV but this Comcast blackout stuff is annoying.

SMF explain the Digital Antenna and how it works.
I'm about to purchase one to see what I can get.
What brands and where do I get one.
Thanks!

Get an amplified one- you will get more channels (50 mile radius). Also, the Amazon Fire TV Recast is a cool device as well. It allows you to put the antenna anywhere in your house for the best reception as well as giving you a DVR function for the over-the-air channels. You do need a FireTV as well but they cost nothing.

Yup I think I will try the amplified one just to see what happens.

Technology is moving fast and this one will be obsolete soon.

On a serious note I am interested in how much you can pick.
A Dell Techy kid who repaired our brand new Dell laptop (motherboard failed in one month) told Mrs Buffett and I that's how he gets TV with the antennae.
He went on to say he generation pays for Netflixs for example but who wants to pay for TV?
I would bet the cable cos and DirectTV better start innovating.

We bought a Firestick recently and went on YouTube to learn how to jailbreak it. Has worked great for TV shows and recent movies. Today it gets the test in finding the game. Friends who have one claim they watch all types of sports.
Not much chance of any stations carrying it here in Southeast Ohio so hopefully this works.

Antenna reception has a lot of variables, such as your home location, brand, model, and placement in your home.

Before cutting the cord, I tried 5 different antennas before I was able to find one that gave me all the channels I needed. I pull in about 100 channels but probably truly watch about 10-15 on the regular. Probably would be about the same ratio with cable.

Below is the antenna I settled on from Bestbuy. I have 2 of them. I also had an $8 antenna from Walmart that pulled in the same amount of channels. It just gave me trouble with 1 channel.
