He was definitely being a good team mate on the sideline. He was always very vocal and spirited in celebrating with those who had the big play. So he may have a problem with the playbook, but doesn't seem to me like a pyriah on the team. So I hope he can get on the field soon.
Don't really understand what's funny about one of the few highly rated prospects we manage to land underperforming. Miami put the full court press on him and he stayed loyal to his commitment. I'm disappointed in his performance so far, but this thread is just dumb as ****.
Then neither of you got itTotally agree, I hope he finds success next year.
Yes he sort of returned a kick off. If you saw it, you learned all you need to know as to why he is not playing this year. He had a similar deer in the headlights momoent on a previous kick off return earlier in the season.
I'm cheering for Paris Ford to be a big success next year. Actually, it must be Excruciatingly painful and damaging to ones self esteem to have to sit behind Dennis Briggs. I mean Wow. Dennis Briggs. Narduzzi aka "Defensive Genius" needs to figure out a way to get Paris Ford on the field. Paris Ford >>>> Dennis Briggs.

There has been little however to cheer for. Hopefully the light comes on soon. I've seen too many prodigies come through Pitt only to fall flat. Reminds me of Sean Gilbert from Alliquippa back in the 80s. He finally displayed his full talent.... in his last game of his senior year. I've seen too many of these sure fire, can't miss wunderkinder. I hope I'm wrong on Paris.
If he has offensive instincts at all and can catch the ball at all, make him an H back aka Dorin Dickerson. No illusions he can block like a TE but Dorin really couldn't either. But he became a fine weapon in the passing game.
Ford isn't needed at CB, didn't show much there anyway, and apparently is not the quantitative physics professor that Duz's defense requires of its safeties. He cant play LB, no killer instinct (just like Dorin). You can't waste this guy without a fight ... we struggle too much to get the top local prospects, hell, any local prospects right now, and 4 stars are equally rare. Just for the PR alone, show publicly you've made every effort to make him productive.
I don't get why he was running on & off the field when clemson was punting. Maybe it wasn't shown on tv but he was running off the field while the bench was going wild to get him to stay on...thought he wanted to play
Forget Ford on defense. If they can't find a spot for him on offense quickly then he best consider transferring to a smaller school where perhaps he'll get a chance to play and contribute some. He's never going to play CB here. That's clear as day as he's way behind his lesser-recruited classmates. Probably won't make the 2 deep at CB next year either. I have my doubts if they will ever trust him at Safety. He certainly wouldn't see the field much if at all at S next year. So you sit him another year and see if he can win a S job as a RS Jr. or move him to WR to see if he can help there. Unfortunately, I see this more as a Shayne Hale situation. Like Hale, I think he probably won't start until his 5th year and just be ordinary back there. Just terribly overrated

A safety or a linebacker has to have the instinct to attack the offense. I think that's born, not bred. He doesn't have it. A corner can still be effective without the desire to punish, at least since Deion Sanders made that acceptable. But as mentioned, there are players who have passed him up at that position. So move him to offense this spring, try at H back, maybe he'll make a good target in lieu of a real TE. If he's no good there, advise him to take the Tommy Campbell plan. He's never going to play CB here. That's clear as day as he's way behind his lesser-recruited classmates. Last game of his senior year? He played like 11 games at pitt, total. he definitely wasn't there his senior year..I'm cheering for him to succeed also.

Serious??????
The kid flat out laid out a 5 star running back at the Under Armor game and was all over the field making plays.
He has the instincts. He will be fine, he will be playing, and he will be playing well.
He looks a lot bigger now, he is certainly weight training alot. People do not understand the process it takes to be great. Pitt has done a very good job at taking under skilled kids and making them pro dbs. Paris Ford will be one as well.
Duzz says he is going to be a heck of a safety? If so, why'd he move him to CB?Unless you've been to every practice and watched him in college level scrimmages all this talk about his instincts and best position is wild speculation at best. What we know is that he was not good enough to beat out the existing safeties and Dbs on the roster. That doesnt mean he doesnt have physical tools but the combination of physical tools and game smarts was lacking compared to other options. If he could have helped the team win more this year hed have been on the field.
does that mean hes a bust? Heck no. Just means he wasnt ready to contribute this year. Hopefully he applies himself in film study and in workouts and blossoms into the player we all hoped he could be. Id note that DUzz has said hes going to be a heck of a safety so the staff still apparently thinks he'll be a key contributor.
He isn't going to see time on defense until Year 4 at earliest.
Well motley is done, you have Mathis and no one else besides redshirt freshman so theoretically, you’d have to imagine worst case, he’s 2nd string CB.He saw time on defense this year. Played a lot vs Albany, then blew a few plays vs psu, and played sparsely after that
Duzz says he is going to be a heck of a safety? If so, why'd he move him to CB?
I liked Ford moving to CB but weird quote from duzzer if this is true.
Because it was a way to get him on the field sooner AND it gives him a better understanding of the entire defense. There is less to think about at DB than safety. He explained this as well.
Yea, I took all this to mean there was no way he was going to see the field at Safety this season and CB is easier to learn and rely on instincts/athleticism so they thought he could help there a bit, which he didn't.
My guess is he is moved back to Safety in the Spring and competes with Stocker, Campbell, and Garner for Briggs's job. Stocker will probably win that as Narduzzi loves experienced guys there (Webb, Briggs) who know on paper what to do. I would have my doubts that Ford makes the 2 deep.
Senior year; last year who cares. The point is he underperformed until his last game, against PSU I believe, when he knew the NFL scouts would be watching. He was the ultimate "Hooray for me and to hell with you" player.Last game of his senior year? He played like 11 games at pitt, total. he definitely wasn't there his senior year..

Then neither of you got it
I wasn’t ripping Ford
I’m ripping the obsession with people complaining and posting about him all season
How long did it take for Whitehead to get some serious playing time?Serious??????
