Man, talk about the ACC's perception changing on a dime. Last night, it looked like GT might potentially knock UGA out of the playoff picture (they'd have to win next week) and three ACC teams could get in.

But with Clemson losing today and possibly making the ACC Title Game next week (if Miami loses), it might be a one-bid conference.

Minimum of 2 and possibly 3ACC teams. Miami will still be in with 2 losses. SMU is probably in even if they lose the ACC championship. And Clemson is in if they win it.

i don't see a 3 loss acc team in. i doubt clemson is in with the w but i can't see them winning boy ga tech choked
GT sure did let that 1 get away. The fumble on 3rd down qb sneak was a killer. I also thought at the time that they should have gone for 2 after their td in the first ot. One play wins it for you right there. Otherwise you have to score again and then defend Georgia.

agree. Also, one of those OT's where they had 2 chances for the win, the 2nd one closer after a penalty was a true killer.

But on that fumble many thought it was targeting and was missed. Still should have held on to the ball and probably would have won game if not for it. Reminded me of Auburn-Alabama in 2021, I think Auburn had a fumble or something when it seemed like they had victory in reach.

Clemson isn't getting in.

If they beat SMU both are out.
They would be one of the top 5 conference champs. Tulane losing to memphis assured that. There is a high chance they would be number 4. As ASU/ISU won’t be higher than a team that beats a top 10 team.

They will still have 3 losses. SC would need to get in over Clemson. And the B12 champ. And perhaps 2 loss Miami.

wtf are you talking about? If Clemson wins the ACC champ they will be ranked number 4. It’s how the system works. B12 champ will get an auto spot but not a bye.

Ok. It doesn't work how I thought it worked. I thought they did something to remove autobids. I guess not.

I think it's highly doubtful Miami gets in.

If SMU wins, I think we're a one bid league. If Clemson wins in a close game, I think two bids are possible, but still unlikely.

If I understand what they said on SportsCenter tonight, the 4 highest ranked conference champions get the first-round bye. If, for example, either ISU or BYU or Boise State are ranked ahead of Clemson this Tuesday, (and assuming that whoever wins the B1G and SEC are going to get byes 1 and 2), those teams could get the bye and NOT Clemson. It could go B1G, SEC, Big 12, and Mountain West Champs as the teams who get seeded 1-4. Clemson would get in, but not necessarily get a bye

It's all so f***ing confusing ...

Miami has zero path now
Clemson is out if smu wins next week
This isn’t complicated

Thanks for your opinion, and that's all it is.
I don't think it is only his opinion. This conference sucks. It is a much poorer football conference than basketball, and the basketball perception is horrible. I hope SMU clubs the snot out of Clemson. Clemson doesn't belong anywhere near the CFP this year. Only SMU deserves it, if they slip up and let Clemson win, this conference shouldn't get an entry at all, but I'm sure they will take one.

It remains only an opinion at this point, despite your argument otherwise. Miami's loss this weekend was to an 8-3 team at their home. Ohio State's loss was to a 6-5 team at home. What logic makes Miami a worse team? Ohio State beat 1 team worth discussing - PSU, and PSU beat nobody. The B10 was exceedingly weak.

The one thing that we've seen over and over this fall is that there are a lot of people who are talking about how the playoff is going to shake out while simultaneously having no idea what so ever how the playoff actually works.

It being year one I think it’s somewhat understandable people aren’t getting the procedural aspect, but saying the ACC could get 3 teams in and other things like that is downright silly.

Yeah, three ACC teams obviously went away yesterday when Clemson and Miami both blew their games.

Is it silly to have the B10 get 4 teams in?

Oregon no question.
OSU played 3 games against the B10 top 4 and went 2-1. They went 5-1 against the rest and 3-0 against 3 non-P4 nonconference teams.
PSU played 1 game against the B10 top 4 and went 0-1. They went 8-0 against the rest and 3-0 against WVU and 2 non-P4 nonconference teams.
Indiana played 1 game against the B10 top 4 and went 0-1. They went 8-0 against the rest and 3-0 against 3 non-P4 nonconference teams.

Well it’s certainly not silly to say it because it’s a factual statement. The B10 is getting 4 teams in.

That's right. If Clemson wins, then the B12 and MWC Champ will get the 3 and 4 seeds. Clemson will get the #12.

You seem detached from reality
Oregon , PSU, OSU, and Indiana are locks

The SEC will also get 4. (Texas, Georgia , Tennessee - then either bama /USC/ole miss)
The acc and b12 get one
Notre Dame is in
Boise gets the last spot

I never said that the B10 wasn't getting 4 teams in. I asked if it was silly to do so.

The SEC will not get 2 3-loss teams in over 2-loss Miami.

If Georgia is one of those 3 loss teams they probably will.

I believe they will.

If Georgia loses, there will absolutely be two 3-loss SEC teams ahead of Miami. They've already said they're not going to penalize teams for losing in conference championship games. And South Carolina will almost certainly be ahead of Miami Tuesday. At that point, NCPitt will say he meant something else, so it's not even worth debating with him.
